Graphics - monitor combination

Hello,

I am going crazy lately with the new gaming rig i want to build. I cannot decide which combination of monitor/graphics card to use.

My ideas are:

1. Fury X with Asus MG279Q monitor to take advantage of the FREESYNC and high refresh rate in a reasonable price.

2. GTX 980Ti HoF version with DELL Ultra-wide 34" monitor to get the best out of the 21:9 display. This one ofcourse does not have a g-sync option.

3. Two Radeon Fury DC3 in Crossfire with a 4K monitor(Any suggestion on which monitor?) . This build is too expensive but does anyone know if it's worth it?

Does anyone has any experience with the above ideas? And if not what would you suggest. My budget is 2000-2500 pounds.

Thanks

Hi Plouto.

Personally if given a choice I would go with option 1. I say that because of the issues using a ultrawide monitor like the one you mention in option 2 can be a PITA.

I would not personally go Crossfire unless you have to, and you don't have to. I had already bought a 4k monitor before I realised my error and by that time it was a bit late. Many (IE most of) the latest games do not work with multiple GPUs *at all* so it would be more of a punt on DX12 working without the need for support.

Don't count out the Fury Nano. It has just dropped in price and would be the perfect accompaniment to the monitor you have specced in option 1. This would also allow you to build an absolutely tiny rig, if that sort of thing floats your boat.
