GPU screw

Heya guys,

Ran into some problem just now and I now understand that ginge screw problem, all the other screws were fine, except for one.... and this is the last screw that I need to get off as well!.

The 4 grey screws on the sides came off, but don't need them off lmao.

Look at the top left corner, any ideas on how to get it off in order to get the "GeForce GTX" logo off to mod? :(...

Like glue the tool to the screw and then try? :p

I trick I use is find a torx screwdriver that is roughly the same size, can grip better. That or the good old rubber band method, place rubber band over the screw then unscrew like normal.

Might try that... only to find out I don't have a torx that is the same size, only bigger one -.-'

I got a set like these to get that pesky screw out of my gpu, the rubber band method etc didn't work for me :/

If I remember correctly, the Allen key you need is a 1.5mm. If you have that and the hex head is busted, you could try some blu-tak or paper between the screw head and the Allen key (to make up the gap) the turn it. Alternatively a small blob of superglue in the hex head socket then place your Allen key in and let it set. The try turning it out. Hope this all makes sense!

I might be teaching a cat to meow here, but remember when undoing cap heads to put the small part of the key in to head so you can use the longer part as leverage. Those screws have a little bit of threadlock on them making them more difficult to get out.

Superglue and trying that way, tried it twice now and didn't work. The glue doesn't get a good enough grip of the allenkey inside the screw, due to the screw being so very tiny.

Get the set of the pic I showed you, worked like a charm on that other Tx screw that was raping me ;) you'll most likely find it in your local diy store if you ask someone there
