GPU Only Utilizing 60%?

Yep checked both of them. I also ran the CPU on stock. Also checked the temps.

Do you have vsync turned on in games?
Do you have a frame limiter?
have you tried totally removing the old drivers via device manager and installing the new ones?
what games are most affected by this problem?

I've tried vsync on and off. I have no frame limiter. I used driver cleaner tool in safe mode, but haven't tried it that way. DayZ and Arma 3 are most effected. Crysis 3 least effected.

DayZ and Arma 3 both are very CPU intensive so something odd could be happening with your CPU. Tell me what FPS you get and I'll compare it to my 280x/AMD 8320 rig.

DayZ SA and Arma 3 are not that well optimized as you know. I can get anything as lows as 18fps to as high as 70fps. As you can see on the last page the video of DayZ SA the GPU is around 60% to 80% and the fps about 18 to 38.
I tried BF4 yesterday but for some unknown reason it wouldn't start so I'll try again today.

Thats what i was talking about on page 2, its called a power limiter, but he is having trouble with games

HD7970 Does infact have power limiter that turns on in benchmarks

O_O I just realized that this is probably the same reason why i was having the same problem. my gtx 570 and your HD7970 both have a power limiter

Can I suggest a better benchmark to use? Just stick with unigine heaven or valley. Can you run the benchmark mode for one of them and send us a screenshot of the scores and keep and eye out for the clock speeds and utilisation too.

This was the best of the three tests I did. The load only dropped to 75% on one while this test it dropped at times to 90%. The core clock never dropped at all.

That Heaven score is about right for a 7950, I remember getting around ~1890 with my old 7950 and a 2500k at 1080p.

On BF4 I'm getting 60-100fps on locker map. Titanfall seems to even have lower GPU loads but I think that game is locked at 60fps even without vsync.
Everything turned up to ultra setting.

You can see that the core clocks are good and so is the mem clock, but the GPU load isn't.

Well the GPU only uses what it needs so if it drops down in load its really just using less cores since it doesn't need it as much. Once the games starts throwing bigger loads at it, it ramps up in usage. I have a 7950 and it goes all over the place in certain games(easier to run games) but does not in others(more taxing games). Honestly i just think how they were all built. If its a universal phenomenon then its probably normal.

I noticed a pattern. When the card has been running for sometime it starts to lose load %, but the temps are 70c ish and core clock stays were it should.
Also noticed on benchmarking Heaven that the CPU load is 25%. Is that normal?
Also on HWmonitor it shows the +12v as 11.176 min and 11.352 max. Is that normal?

Dayz is a shitty game,wouldnt wonder me if you only had troubles with it,but with other games as well,I dunno...In arma 2 dayz mod I have about 40% GPU usage lol...in other games in 99%.

Maybe its because the mod isn't graphically intensive? Its all about the CPU with arma/DayZ... Strong cores> everything else with it.
