well loooking to get into killing shizz.

what platrof is the best starter point?

atm i got some :

Amd skt A stuff 2 mobo's that are suposidly quite good (abit and a giga ga7n400 pro 2 i think >< ) ther ein a box un used.

also got som opteron 146's and a Dfi nf4 sli dr mobo (good mobo or not??)

so would i be better abusing the gear i go or go and grab a cheap old 775 setup or 478 ??

whats peoples views i see 478's a good place to start the abuse?

I'd start by obtaining a method of making stuff rather cold. Dice is good and cheap and you can make pots for tens of £. Pushing stuff to the limit is just more rewarding when you eliminate the heat element.

Where to start chip wise. What ever you've got that you don't mind killing!

But getting as much as possible out a chip without killing is always a better idea...

hmm well i could slap a w/c stup together to start of with and you say a pot for a few quid but then i gotta get liquid right?

liquid? acetone yeah, but that can be bought from where ever females by nail polish remover from. Or the likes of ebay. It aint expensive.

hmmz hamm can u poitn me int he direction of some websites / forums im utter n00b tbh. i know i got some ddr400 here etc haha i aint got a clue where to start the most o/c ihave ever done is bump my 3200 barton up to something like 2.4 from 2.2 lol

Its all trial and error welshy, youll understand it better if you ask questions while you are trying to clock something.

Ah. Maybe sub zero is a little ott then :p.

Prob be a good idea to get to grips with ocing in general then. In which case just pick something, read the sticky on ocing that particular socket/chip and start tweaking. 478 is a good place to start imo as there ain't too many options, unlike a lot of the new boards. My IC7 just had fsb, vcore, multi, ram, vram and vagp!
