Hi guys/girls,
Got an issue where my usb3 wont work at full speed under windows 8 so I contacted Gigabyte and told them of the issue since windows 8 preview, all I'm getting is the run around and stupid questions like are you using a usb3 device and im now at the stage where im going to get rid of this board. So if anyone is using an MSI MPower board can you tell me if the usb3 ports work at full speed with windows 8 as im looking to change to it and ivy.
Thanks for any replies.

the UD5 is a great board dont get rid of it becasue windows doesnt have proper drivers for it yet. Either roll back to windows 7 if usb3 is that majorly important or wait for proper drivers.

Thanks for the reply but according to Gigabyte there are no issues with drivers they blame Microsoft for the issue I just want it fixed and I really like Windows 8 and dont want to go back to 7 as its slower and takes up too much space with its 400+ updates and I threatened Gigabyte that I would stop supporting them if they didn't take the issue seriously and they send me emails saying that I must be using usb 2 drives not usb 3 I mean really! So as far as im concerned they can go to buggery.

heres how I look at it if it worked at usb speed for windows 7 but not windows 8 it has to be drivers. check the web for usb 3 issues with windows 8 and see what it nets ya. Just saying it aint totally gigabytes fault.

Yes I have done that and it seems to be a driver problem with the Nec Renesas chipset the high speed transfer won't work. I probably wouldn't have worried so much if Gigabyte didn't bullshit me by saying with one breath that they are aware of the issue and we are working and testing new drivers for the boards that have the issue and it will take time, then in the next breath turn around and say there is no issue to be fixed and that I must be an idiot and are using a usb2 drive and not usb3 or that its windows fault, it just ticks me off i'm fed up with big companies stuffing people over.

I feel ur pain bro but manu's will always be getting it over on us. I understand you have a usb3 stick and all that but what are you doing with this device that is causing you such grief??/

Actually its 2x 2TB drives that I use to copy large files to and it just takes forever at usb 2 speeds I have a hell of a lot of movies in digital format and other stuff and its doing my head in. It took 8 hours of copying files for a client when it should have taken 3-4. And thanks again S_I_N for ur help mate.
