Getting paid soon - may spend on...

Hey yaaa

I'm getting paid around £500 end of month (new job washing cars, £6 an hour, 8 hours a day three times a week ^^)

I would like to buy a dx10 before college starts so i dont have extra lifestyle costs coming into play etc. so after this purchase i can just start putting money straight into my bank account that i still have to set up lawl.

The 8800gts seems to be the best bang for buck at the moment, well, from my analysis.

Im not sure which manufacturer to go for or which memory size. My poor x1900gt 256mb is starting to fall behind now :( Just need something to allow me to play latest games flat out in full beauty :D

My 2007wfp's native resolution is 1680x1050 so i would like to keep in that resolution while gaming, but would it pay to get the 640mb for extra boooooooooost plus still be able to game high resolution if i get a bigger screen...

Cheers

There was a recent article (can't remember source) where they discovered the 320mb's potential in the latest official drivers.

In comparison, the 320mb version is pretty much the same as the 640mb version, but minus 1/2fps in game

i remember seeing those articles too. Some of the benchs went for the 320mb and others went for the 640mb. I bought the 640mb as some games now have huge texture files and some like ghost recon advanced warfighter require huge memories.

500 quid could get you an 8800ultra :p

Yes but how long would that last :p

I dont wanna blow a months pay on a gfx card tbh lol ^^ the more money i can salvage from this purchase the better, thats why im not going out and just buying any card, just want the best value one that will be suitable for what i want it for now and the near future

Would it not be a better idea to wait until November when the G92 is out?

If not, you could buy my 8800GTX off me for sub £300 lol
