GeForce GTX 480 Serious competitor for best value GPU on the market.

Need some demonstration.

(meaning, you can youtube search masses of people playing triple screens with them - so demos to the contrary would be great)

I had two in SLI but my cooler broke and leaked all over them :(

I paid £300 for the pair back ages ago. Very fast cards in SLI !

Not at all, i believe you have never owned a GTX 480 however...

I am not being nasty to you, but it is mostly either fanboys or people who follow reviewed cards who rant like this.

The fact of the matter is, the 480 in retail form is not nearly as bad as the review samples.

Do you intend to come across as really like, rude? or is it some sort of internet persona you put on?

Eh, I see you're a little late to this party, so let me quote myself from earlier.

Ooohkay then, so, you've had your laughs. No more sarcasm, no more sardonicism. If you have something constructive to say, say it, but that's it. From both sides of the fence.
If such ramblings continue, i'll simply close the thread, and you'll all be on warning. Hope y'all understand.

I know what you say is neither sarcastic nor sardonic, but I'd like to try and keep this thread as close to on-topic as possible.

I dislike people who think they know things that they have never experienced.

You seem to dislike a lot of people for a lot of reasons.

Namely me, who you have never met before.

Your smarmy comments aren't exactly going to make you a lot of friends.

FYI I have plenty of experience with the 480. I would, I had two in SLI on air before putting them both on Dwood mod.

One thing I will say about the experience is this.

You are a little naive, you think i was speaking about you?

Thanks, but i think you came here looking for an argument, and no wonder it was so hot, you have a boiler of a chassis.

Oh sorry. Maybe if I had put the cards into a case without a GPU cooling duct slapped in front of them then I could have fooled them into being quiet and cool.

Your argument holds absolutely no water. The 480 is a hot son of a bitch because the cooling and fan are inadequate and poorly designed.

No case in the world can change that unless it's full of radiators and you fit water blocks to them, but even then you'll pinch your local power provider.

So i guess my 55-60c at stock clocks on air is absolutely fake then...

I need to dip them in the sea to keep them cool.

Your lack of knowledge on how to cool stuff properly is profound.

What are you talking about?

I had mine running 950mhz on Dwood cooling mods using Antec Kuhlers.

It was only then that they behaved. The radiators would get so hot you couldn't touch them mind.

When i had my stock coolers, my cards would never run past 85c, this is a perfectly fine temperature in the grand scheme of GPU's, and this is in a Xigmatek Utguard...

I moved both of them into the Silverstone RV02-B, and temps rarely went over 80c on stock coolers at 800mhz...

Then i decided i wanted more from them, so i went Gelid...

Are you telling me 80-85c is unacceptable for a GPU, on a broken assed cooler?

As was promised, Crysis at 4K res.

I have a gtx 480 sc , and its still pounding out games on ultra at 1920 x 1200 and still puts out 60 - 80fps yes it gets hot under load but as they said when it came out it will handle it , and tbh on a really hot day under full load mine has hit 103 C and it still runs perfectly fine, so for stability and reliablity you cant go past it for the price they r at now , so as the topic states yes they r great value for money and seeing that everyone is now arguing over completely unrelated topics i thought id bring this thread back to topic

If it wasn't for the fact that they get so hot even under water I would still have mine. Very tough cards indeed.
