GeForce GTX 480 Serious competitor for best value GPU on the market.

+1
People just will not buy these anymore
too much power draw
for modern cards, low vram,
running hot,
lack of availible waterblocks now,
much better options availible for the price range,

shall i continue or are you going to still be shortsighted with this?

Not sure, but both you and Tom are wrong with the whole "watercooling is needed" thing...

I run mine under air still... and never break 75c with massive watercooled overclocks....

So much for that short sight ^_^

well,
a lot of people are starting to run watercooling,
but now, you bore me, as you probably did seumas,

i bid you adieu!

Look at the project logs section dude mang friend, w/c is popular now!

Oh christ, OC3D's WC section is the world population of PC users

Here we go again with the overblown words, as they are used for the 480...

The only truth you all have had so far, is power consumption...

And i am short sighted and thick according to you lot.

No, last time i checked i am running a microwave from ALBA cooking a microwave meal..............

I also cook eggs, use it as a george foreman grill, and also heat my entire street 365 days a year...

I pay 1 billion pounds for my electric, and even then the damn electric from my town gets completely drained, they had to have a local power station built.... rough times.

It also feeds trolls throughout many forums and even lends them some cooking juice for their bacon.

as mentioned before the power cosumption alone will make up the price diffrence. a 7870 will perform on par or slightly better than a 480, and in a year when new drivers are released the performance of the 7870 will just get better whereas the 480 as you said previously has perfect drivers and therfore it is performing about as well as it ever will. the price diffrence between the 2 cards new doesnt make the 480 worth it. the 480 is only worth it if you can find a used one for cheap.
