If companies stopped releasing games that have so many game-breaking bugs, and if every publisher stopped taking feature announcement/delivery advice from Peter Molyneux then maybe we'd pre-order.

These days it's pointless. GTA V still bugged to hell. Watch Dogs nothing like what was promised. Anything Ubisoft touch is pretty bad (Far Cry 4 excepted).

Add that to the price-gouging DLC and you're better off waiting six months, buying the complete pack with all the patches and DLC and saving £10 at the time.

Not sure if i agree with the "Uk has the largest numbers of gamers".. I mean look at China lol

It's good that people aren't pre-ordering though. Hopefully it pushes the industry around.

China sure has alot of good gamers, but getting games is not the easiest thing there. My Chinese roomate tells me Steam is blocked there and practically the only way to get games is by "illegal" downloads. Im guessing that would put many people off, so Im not sure there are as many gamers as some people think. Of course I could be wrong ;)

Well the US has many more people than the UK.. i'd say at least we have more gamers:p

Either way it don't matter tbh. As long as companies can get their stuff together and become closer to the fans and communities who support them, maybe they might gain mroe trust. Instead of trying to take a little more money from them by offering DLC like no other..

Sorry, made a small edit for clarification. I meant the largest number of gamers which have stopped pre-ordering.

100% agree with you

Since Alien Colonial Marines - my pre-ordering habits have dropped significantly. Can't see me pre-ordering again for some time (even though I do want battlefront - after the terrible experiences with BF3 and BF4 on launch weekends I think I'll wait until after the first patches are applied) .

Seems BF series was hit hard by lack of preorders and sales. They are now offering a 40% discount on selected versions of Hardline

I really do hope this catches on as then developers will go back to how we used to receive titles. Alot more polished than they are now.

I used to pre-order the BF games however the cost of the games on Origin is ridiculous.

I've got the most recent games in the series from CD keys as it's a quite a bit cheaper and is still cheaper even after the origin price reduction (which I assume wouldn't be classed as a pre-order?).

I struggle to understand why Origin isn't competitive price wise when you're buying a digital download.

Because CD keys can sometimes be purchased illegally in large batches and resold. Or purchase in some countries where currency is low and then resold online to other countries for a hefty profit, yet still cheaper than origin.

places that sell cheap cdkeys are a good place to go, but use them with caution. Often they are just resellers.

CDkeys(the website) is legal. They have been doing it for 30 years. If it wasn't i'm sure they would have been to court already. They get most their keys in large amounts of bulk from places where they are already cheap. Then they sell them.

the keys are usually legal..
Some of the "dubious" parts come from the options you can chose on some web sites (not naming any names)..
I know that some of the sites have you automatically listed as an EU country that has really low or no VAT. which lets you save quite a bit depending where you are really from, and then you have the ones that sell russian keys which happen to not be region locked..
but i think that is stopping now with some games being made unplayable if you used a russian key and you are not in russia.
