Galaxy S3/jellybean music player app needed

Hi

What I want to know is if anyone has come across a music app (or maybe a setting for the default one) that allows you to control the music player from the lock screen (locked via pin).

The issue is that I've moved from the iphone 3gs to the s3 and so far there are still a few things that worked on the iphone that i can't get working on the s3 yet. I always use my phone as a music player while not making calls. On the iphone you double tap the button and it brings up the lock screen version of the music app, allowing you to skip tracks etc.

On the s3 the only solution i have found with the default music app is to make sure there's no lock on the phone and drag down the settings..y bar from the top on the 'lock' screen. That works fine but I would prefer the phone to have a lock on it tbh.

Cheers for any suggestions.

if you are using the headset then you can double tap the answer button on it and it will skip the track, other than that i dont know of anything myself

forgot about this thread

I gave up and bought an ipod. The S3 is right up there as easily the second worst phone I have ever bought and android is shite.

Well you are just completely wrong there mate :L The S3 is easily the best phone on the market atm and Android is a glorious OS

i agree and on the topic of the s3 how many variants has the iphone had ... dont get me wrong ... it was i conic in stealing all of its ideas and then sueing all those who had them ideas and lost :) the having a go at samsung for "copying" but anyway id chose Roid over apple anyday but thats me the tech they sell is awesome just i know id rather use the s3, but tbh im happy with the s2 i was offered a free iphone 5 or a cheaper contract i chose the cheaper contract :)

Personally, the main reason I choose Android is the bigger screens you can get, my Nexus was £250 and has a 4.7" 1280 x 768 display, the iPhone 5 on the other hand only has a 4" 1136 x 640 display

If i remember rightly you can use the volume buttons to change track whilst locked, also you can stick a custom rom on it if you really want to benefit from the s3 without all the samsung shite...

I'm using poweramp and it has a couple of lockscreen options. This is how it looks on my Galaxy SII, but I'm pretty sure it's the same on SIII since I'm on JB as well.
I for one prefer to use volume buttons to change tracks, as others have mentioned.

As long as your set up andriod properly and use the right apps, it's beautiful.
HTC One X with poweramp/flac files/ encoded music/SRX enchancment rivals my home setup for headphones...

the s3 is a bit more than an mp3 player :) and you didn't specify which ipod, could have been the touch, then you would have a restricted platform.

I got a second hand shuffle off my sister, for jogging. Problemo solved as I also got a new job since posting the OP and don't travel on a bus anymore.

But I don't see the issue with a 'restricted platform' for a music player anyway.

Now I only have to use my S3 for communication, which is bad enough, but it's a step in the right direction.

to me it sounds like spending your time to do google and samsungs job for them then tbh.
