G Card decision made.

Got a 8800GTS 320Mb myself and i can tell its a beautiful card that is, overclocks nicely 648/1008 stable (500/800 default), very quiet, and cool too (since i consider 80 degrees is cool for a graphics card). Runs games at highest settings smoothly, awesome decision mate ;) Only my cpu bottlenecks it though :D

I like BFG, its agreat manufacturer, cause usually they have better cooling solutions on graphic cards, for example, many 7800GS/7900GS/7900GT came with just a fan over gpu, where as BFG fan's were not only over gpu but ram as well, so would run cooler and so on :)

I would have thought your CPU is fine for a 8800 card. Maybe Im wrong though and really you need a C2D..

Hmm showing a 4400+ x2 in his sig running @ 2.6G.. figured it`d go higher than that. 2.6 stock for a 4400+ ?

Sorry for offtopic, but my cpu's default speed is 2.2Ghz. Maximum i could push was 2.67ghz super pi'd and it was something like 34s with voltage at 1.5v and ram being at 1:1 ratio was set to 3.0v 3-4-4-10, also temperatures not too bad i get as high as 48-50 on load and as low as 36-40 idle. So i think its just the chip itself really. But now i run it 24/7 @2.63Ghz. sometimes i do regret for replacing opteron 146 with this X2 athlon :D 146 was so much quicker, ooh well :P

Yup and i do get fps drops to 40 and lower when playing css in DM servers or other Mega servers rather, when there are loads of players around. PS. i consider 75fps to be absolute minimum to call game - playable ;)

Wow 3800 stocks @ 2g.

EDIT: They didn`t have much scope between those processors obviously. 3800 extremely safe @2.5, and most 2.6/7 without too special a cooler. Dang.

Well the only reason i took 4400 was that it was cheap and had 2mb of cache (1mb per core), where as other cpus had 1mb (512kb per core).

Sorry for offtopic once again
