Hello and welcome to my first build log 
. Come and watch me succeed/crash and burn! Admittedly this isn't nearly as spectacular as the 904 build going on in another thread but this should be a good example of a build in this case. I've named the rig spur, after the Spur Thighed tortoise.
Now, despite only building my rig a year and half ago it is time to replace it. It had a AMD 8320, 8gb of xm3 1333 ram, a seidon 120m cooler, a 120gb samsung 840 SSD, a 2tb 'cuda drive, a terrible enermax case, cx600w m psu and a XFX 7870. Since its conception it has recieved numerous mods (namely a new case, new fans and a Asus R9 280x and a RM750).
I decided that I needed a completely new machine as I had originally made my rig on a tight budget for streaming (twitch) and a gaming machine. However, I now use my rig in a way that really shows the issues AMD cpus have with certain tasks. This involves alot of cpu intensive tasks that do not make use of week, multiple cores. This time however, I've decided to not worry about a budget and instead build a rig I would be proud of or at the very least had a decent amount of grunt. No z97? No Devil's Canyon? I'm not going to be going for mad clocks (brah) as the airflow in this case is not really optimal. So a 4770k and a z87 'board will suit me well. Storage will also not be as important as I have another rig planned for that.
I've build quite a few machines, mostly for friends and almost all of them ATX. This is going to be a challenge as the only other itx build I've done was in a much more cable friendly case.
This will be a build that will take a couple of months to complete, albeit not as long as I anticipated as another project is already rearing its potentially leeky face.

16gb of Corsair Dominator Platinum RAM
MSI z87I Gaming ITX motherboard- While at first this doesn't fit in with the more netural colors of the build, its always nice to have a bit of color
GTX 780 ref- The Ti would not make any sense to me currently as I only really plan to get a high refresh monitor. After two generations of mostly faultless AMD GPUs I felt that it was time to try out the green team again. I had apoor experience in the past but having worked quite a bit with the 6xx series for friends and the occasional client I feel confident that I won't be stuffed. Also, I can only use a blower type cooler that is dual slot. SO DEFINATLY NO AMD.
250gb Samsung EVO SSD- Fast, cheap and (imo) much more reliable then certain other vendors.(purchased)
1tb ssd- To be picked at a later date.
Inwin 901 ITX case- Arguably the most interesting bit about this build. I chose this case purely because I liked the look of it and I've always wanted a case that has actual glass. (Purchased)
Corsair pre braided cables white- Its a dark case and I feel it compliments the 780 and RAM perfectly.(purchased)
silverstone lighting- you've got to have light in that case in order to see things. innit.(Purchased)
Noctua 120mm case fan- You can't see it so it doesn't matter about color.
Corsair H75- 120mm rad AIO. Can't really go wrong. Corsair aren't my personal faves for coolers but eh.
This is the first shot of the case I got in a decent light. Immediatly I'm faced with an excellent mirror-esque surface that looves finger prints. Inwin have realised that and supply a huge cloth to clean it with. Good job lads:
Taking the sidepanel off involves unscrewing four side screws (the weird grey things are where the screws go in to)
This is my biggest complaint with this case thus far, a glass back panel. Cable management is going to be a very crucial part of this case:
Now, I must add, I've not,repeat, NOT even started with the cable management fully as it'll be a bit dumb to do so without having the full assortment of cables at my disposal (should have thought about that, gg idiot). I must say that the case has a nice gap for cable management and quite a bit of it will be no harder to do than a normal case. Neato. I partly have this to thank though. They've pre-routed the sata cables and as such I don't have to worry about any of the cables to do with the HDDS.

Braided fan-molex cable
buy the other stuff
work out which sata cable is for which drive (I'm not joking...)

UPDATE 0, The rebirth:
After much consideration, I've gone and got a Inno3D 780ti ref in preparation for a nice monitor, probably going to get something that is high refresh and higher res. So past me was an idiot, I do need a 780ti. Because of that I've also gone and got a Bitfenix 650w fury psu instead as well.
Here is what I have.
The 780ti is a beautiful card
It even came with a mouse mat! (good thing I love the iChill cards they do...)
And a copy of 3d mark
Just gonna get the mobo and ram next. Then this build finally gets the attention it deserves.
