You can't fit the Corsair fans on the D14.

Just thought you'd get better bandwidth and performance if you ran the card in the top - nevermind :)

why cant you run the corsair fans on the d14? they are the same thickness as the noctua fans, and the are 120mm :/

if you are thinking of the rubberthing on it, it's removable

and running the gpu in the middle slot have nothing to say, since i'm running x79, and the secound slot is a full x16 slott :P
 
Fair enough then.

The clips have a little plastic bit that goes through the holes of the fans. These are only a fraction bigger than standard fan screw holes. Without the rubber on the SPs, the fan hole is a fair bit bigger than a standard screw hole isnt it? I think the hole would be too big to manage to put the plastic end through.
I've never owned a Corsair SP fan so I'm not 100% sure - but going by pictures, and looking at the plastic bits on my D14, it doesn't look at all like it would work.
 
just checked with the rubber things that came with my NH-L12, and i manage (with an awfull lot of power) to squise it through my AF fans, so it would be a snugh fit, but it would actually work it seems :p

Ah right - I see what you mean...

Did you push it through with the rubber things in the SPs in or out?
Fancy taking a picture - could be easier to explain :)
 
Yeah - it isnt gunna work mate.

I think it will be too thick to get the plastic things through properly - and the rubber will be in the way of the metal clips.

It may work if you cut the rubber a bit - but it's a bit of a gamble.
May be better with an H100?

well, my friend orderd a d14 with 3 sp fans, so i'll se how that goes :p
but i tink it will fit. if not theres other ways to mount the fans on the d14 :rolleyes:

the h100 would be allmost as much work as custom wc(i own a define r3 after all xD), so ill eighter go with d14, new fans for the nh-l12 or custom wc(including the chipsett, witch has an anouing fan on it :/
 
Thouht i should post a pic of my friens d14 with 3 SP fans. just to clearyfy that it works ;)

A little update to my system:

I've bought annother 680 card, so all i have to do now is watercool the entire pc :D
