The Corsair Gigabyter!
I GOT IT!!!!!
I got the system Friday afternoon late. I tried to get a pic of the UPS guy but the camera was slow to boot and acted up. He drove off before I got it fixed. I'd had the batteries and card out and it does that sometimes first boot after doing that, I should have had it ready to go. Oh well. I'll just go ahead and post pics and comment before the pics. Long story, but I have had a lot going on at home and a glitch that delayed me getting pics on until now. One thing, find the special size USB cable for my camera, I never used it, have a card reader in the old system. Look at the bottom after the pics for a follow up.
Went to the door and this is what I found after the doorbell rang, the UPS guy was already in the truck leaving.
Taking a deep breath, can't wait!
HMMMMmmmm...wonder what this is?
I'm goin' to cut you!
Breath Fred!
OH, sexy, wearing a see through!
OMG! OMG! NEKKID! Had to take a break, clean-up and change.
Just realized I didn't get a pic with the side cover still on.
Next two are close ups of the sexy bits inside.
Old Glory you are going to have to MOVE!
Honest, the on switch is lit.
More to this pic than appears, more on that later. Note the upper shelf I had to make spacers with some left over oak, guess I got it right.
Maybe some noticed a couple things, here is one.
I didn't notice until standing back, the case set a tad wonky. First pic does not show well the severity. Second pic before I grabbed a straight edge and tweaked a tad more with the plastic coated handle of a huge set of Channel Locks.
Final pic. Put in the new 1 TB I traded for and the bottom drive is the Seagate boot drive out of my old system so I can transfer stuff off of it. Just used a file transfer program to copy most of the drive to a folder on the 1 TB. Have to play with permissions on the drive to be able to access and transfer other files. That will be later today, have much to do today outside the house, so later. I had not put on the SATA cables yet and neatened up the cables. Thought I better take a pic before I forgot.
I'm am happier than I even I can explain. The rough trip it appears to have had is not going to break my heart. I have to think, this is a hell of a lot more than I was supposed to get! The bent feet are just and straight now as they would have been when new. The dent in the front bezel, I have a couple ideas on that. I have some PVC trim board that would fit in the corner on the inside and with some gentle hammering I may be able to knock it out...the other thought is taking it to an old mate who is the best body man around and have him try it. When we had golf ball size hail here once he was the go to guy to bang the deep round dings out of cars and not need a respray. I think this would be easy for him, if he has the time though, he is always very busy. He owes me he says, I have sent business his way and fixed an office computer for him, simple fix, but he thought I was a genius.
I am, but it was easy.
Another couple glitches...when I booted it reset the BIOS, so Tom's overclocking work is gone. It said there is an BIOS Error and will reset all settings to default. No big deal, it can be redone. I'm not worrying about it, I need to get things on the system first, then once all is done, then it can be taken care of.
I have more to say, but can't right now. When I can I'll fire up some stuff to bench and show what is set to what and so on. For one thing it is 8:06 AM here and I have to get in the shower and get going.
