Wow I got to say Im impressed Tom that is an amazing gesture very selfless thing to do! Im a member of the forums not as active as I would like to be but I enjoy reading a post and articles but I sometimes dont post due to 2 brain surgeries my cognitive thinking skills have been diminished somewhat so I dont appear ignorent I just let other people do the talking! But anyway being disabled Im always limited to trying to build a system for lack of funds and it might take a year to get a build done so I kinda know where FredEX is coming from and I think what you done is nothing short of just amazing and makes me proud to be a member here! I dont know FredEX myself but Im glad to see this post and get the chance respond to tell him congrats and say well deserved!

Looking forward to seeing the shots of that rig in your hands.

I'll have to look for it on Gigabyte again. I liked one FB of theirs, but they have another for the UK I believe. Probably on that one.

Hope you are doing well, guy. I know a lot of folks in our spot for one reason or another. Sometimes no physical issues, but just the finances. Maybe not totally broke, but months saving to get anything extra together. Just had a single mom friend get hit with a big plumbing bill Tuesday when she was already hurting. I got hit with a $195.00 plumbing bill Monday to root out my clogged sewer line. Guess that is life. We have kept her computer limping along using parts I get from dead systems I get once in a great while. I have put the word out, if it dies don't toss it out, let me have a look, I may be able to repair it or at least save something from it. So sometimes I can still help folks, just not like I used to be able to where I'd buy something for them and tell them I had it laying around. I never ask for anything, but sometimes now I'll get a $10 or $20, which is all they can afford and I know when to turn that down, you learn who is really hurting and can't afford that even though they offer.

In 3 hours I go for a 40 minute drive for day one of a two day stress test...fun, it is snowing. Better than the freezing rain I drove in yesterday to my rheumatologist very early.

Well I saw the link I think on Gigabyte UK so thought I would check it out, and after I read it the first thing I wanted to do is to tell Tom that I think that was an amazing and kind gesture and wish you well! Congrats on your new Rig and enjoy! Also Im a big Gigabyte fan as well as Corsair so Thanks to Tom, Corsair and Gigabyte for their Generosity!

Congrats fredex for this amazing prize.
My faith in human being is now restored. This is the kind of good thing you can do and don't expect nothing in return. For this you have my respect Logan;) .
Waiting for pictures of your new rig fredex:)

Wow Fredex, really glad that everything is falling into place so easily for you with this whole thing. It's stuff like this why I decided to actually become active in this community, lots of great people and a forum moderator that's actively involved in their own community despite all the stuff they have to do otherwise. Definitely looking forward to seeing this rig finally in your hands and you doing ALL of the things with it... ALL of them!

I'm ready for it, just was up all night, could not sleep, and finished a couple spacers for my desk. A shelf on the desk was too low, so in prep for the system I made a couple oak spacers made from some 1" x 3" pieces I already had left over from a project years ago. It was 460 mm of room for a case between the shelves and the C70 is 501 mm tall. The oak spacers have given me 522 mm space for a case. It will be in pics when I get the system.

Got an e-mail this morning a hard drive as part of a trade is not available. He was going to get it next month. We are going to figure something out. My friend was going to give me a WD Black Label 500 Gig SATA III as part of a trade and he found his supplier can't get them anymore. I was out with a friend helping her Sunday, she was getting a new keyboard and mouse and wanted my opinion and a couple places local to me in WD SATA III no longer go below 1 TB and when looking at Newegg after getting a sale e-mail, they had a WD Black Label 1 TB on sale and I looked up a WD Black Label 500 Gig SATA III to see if they dropped and they were marked as discontinued. He had to go out, so we will discuss it later. If the larger drives have dropped I'm going to suggest he get a 1 TB and my birthday is May 4th, my mom says she will give me me some money for my birthday come April and I could use it to pay the difference between the 500 Gig and 1 TB.

Not to long for now Fred!
Can't wait for pics! You really deserve this rig mate!
I hope you'll absolutely win the sillicon lottery :D

hehe.....prolly feel like moths tho` :) Looking forward to the pics FredEx.

Yeah it will drag on something rotten

In 2008 I returned home from the USA as things all went wrong (crashed my car, broke my back, lost my job, recession made it impossible to stay afloat).

In late 08 or early 09 I ordered an Alienware PC from Ebay and I was so excited. It took absolutely ages to arrive and the courier came three times in the end before finally realising where I lived lol.

Was worth the wait :D

Total edit: I got together with my friend, Jim, today. He he liked my idea the other day. Since he can't get 500 Gig WD Black Label SATA III from his supplier anymore to satisfy our trade deal he got a 1 TB WD Black Label SATA III. I am paying the difference. His cost difference between the 500 Gig and 1 TB is about $30.00 USD. He got the drive and he is waiting until next month for me to give him $30.00 when I'll have some extra cash from a couple birthday cards since my birthday is very early May. My mum and sis both said they are at a loss as to what to buy me, so they are giving me cash...anything I want is way more than what they could afford...new car...pay off the home improvement loan gotten for a badly needed new roof...

OH YEAH, forgot to mention...damn UPS and other delivery trucks came down my road 6 freakin' times today! I can go a month or more and not see one on my road, but today 6, yeah 6 times!

I'm totally ready for THE delivery:

God this is awesome, I really understand where Tom is coming from, but it's great to see someone genuinely trying to get something done out of kind will. Kudos man, this is why I love OC3D over the larger generalized forums...

I've always been a little careless with my money, I bought a GTX 680, 3770k and a few other bits n bobs, when really I was spending out of my means. Had my rig put into storage at one point because I couldn't keep up with the leccy bill!

Fred, you gotta post some pics up when you get it!! ^_^
