hey everyone,

I recently purchased the fractal arc and I absolutely adore the little case, ive managed to fit a r3e in it and 2 580 lightnings with a little bit of difficulty in hiding the cables but it still looks neat

essentially I wanted to build a baby shadow h20.. ok heres the ideas that swarming around in my head atm

1. cut out a window for the side using dremel (any tips would be much appreciated on this)

2. Ive taken out the first hdd bay out for more airflow however i cant take the second one out so i cant mount a 240 in the front

wc parts:

ek supreme hf en (nickel)

xspc rasa rx 240 rad

xspc duel bay res with the mounts for the ddc

Swiftech MCP655 12V Speed Variable Pump

Fittings:

I wanted half inch barbs with 716 tubing but I cant find it anywhere so whats the next best option?

any suggestion on what fitting to get? bitspower are not really cheap atll but If i have to ill get them

Fans: I wanted some good fans with red leds like the ones in the shadow h20 (I dont really want to use noctua) besides all the other fans around the case are noctua)

Coolant: Does anyone know what type of coolant tom used? id assume red and black? was it mayhems?

Tubing: I have absolutley no clue on this is tygon a good brand?

so they are my thoughts for the moment. tell me what you guys think?

cheers

If you're willing to take the riskier job of cutting a hole for a side window, I think you'll find drilling out the rivets to get out the HDD cage easy. But first always measure that you can fit the RX240 in between the floor and the 5.25" cage before drilling. You also need to think of whether you have the option of mounting the rad onto the existing front fan screw holes, or whether you need to create mounting brackets.

Window cutting and the like... http://www.youtube.c...h?v=WpZoE-zj0-k

As for the watercooling detail... eh?... I'm out of my depth.

I don't think you can mount the rad to the fans up front, the fans are attached to the front bezel not the chassis. RX240 is enough for the CPU I think.. What graphic cards are those?

right guys Ive decided to not go with a rad infront because I didnt realise id have no space the hdds so I guess im mounting it in the top

the rx240 should cool a 950 at 4.4 - 4.6ghz yeh?

It's a shame they didn't make both HDD trays removable, you could have moved the bottom one to the left and completely removed the top one then getting a rad in the front would have been easy.

Also, yep the RX240 should be enough.

hey apparently fractal are bringing out a side panel window for the arc, hmmmm hopefully they do so it saves me from having to buy a dremel

oh and wc parts are coming in this week aswell
