Formatting saftely :D

Hello, i am building a system for a friend, he wants to knowhow to foormat a hard drive completely (his files are backed up), any help on a safe and/or fast

install on a partition

it will ask to format

select fast ntfs

What do you mean by formatting "safely"? Does he have private data, which he doesn't want anyone to be able to restore? If that is not the case, a regular quick ntfs formatting does the job. Otherwise, it's gonna be a little more tricky.
