Anyways ideas on a post card and we can do this in a way that you will be happy with it and I can try and get some exposure for the team!

I've pestered my graphics dude and he's on it.

You're doing more than enough dude! Promise.

I've been in this thread a few times now trying to think of something to suggest, but honestly I have no ideas. Tom, I think you're doing plenty and am proud where this team is right now. Can't wait to see the article though.

On second thought, if you could run a long extension cord from the UK to my place, my wife would greatly appreciate our reduced electric bill.

I'm with Charlie, You've done your Part getting partners Like Mushkin involved and CCL looking to demo Folding at home in store!

Also Blah How about a Solar Panel instead

Tom You're Videos & The Team's Reviews being as honest as they come has influenced spending of funds on several occasions for myself and I will Continue to do so for the Long Haul. My old team ironically enough is the place I buy 95% of my PC components from are currently holding a Folding contest where 2 evga GTX 460 EE's are up for grabs along with gift cards and points which can be used for free shipping and various other items The thought never even crossed my mind to switch even just a card to them because This Team is amazing it's hard to even put into words how awesome everyone is the support is great and I couldn't ask for more!

I'm with the others on this one.

On the other hand, if you have some hardware just lying around eating dust I'd be more than happy to help you make some room.. muahahaha

Point of the day - First completed WU/Last completed WU

Score! - largest ammount of points

Pass - Most overtakes for the week

Some competitions I have in mind. They could be running totals and they could equate to medals beneath your avatar on the forums.

oc.net used to run comps where you could team up to compete, each team with a max of 8 cores and the team with the most points at the end of the month got to take the piss out of everybody else for a month pretty much.

this would mean a new name for your comp clients and less wu for your account but still good fun. tbh it was just for braggin rights, no prizes tho.

best teams would be 4 people with blazin fast duos on 24/7 running a stripped out distro.

I think it is pretty hard to balance a competition purely for teh fact that we all have very different pc specs and some could just not compete with others. The only way you could do that for example is if all i7's of a particular kind were against each other or all i5's or 460s / 480s etc etc, you then need to verify it although I am sure the people on here would be honest about their rigs (it is that kind of place).

You then have the drama of what WU a person is issued which kind of leaves it to luck unless you specify a WU to complete and a start finish time must be shown. Again this could be for all types to help balance it out so SMP A3, or bigadv for those who can run them, CPU for those who cannot the same for GPUs.

I admit it may take a bit of setting up in order to identify the diferent sections, which in itself could overcomplicate it, making the competition difficult to understand.

Another option could be a team recruiting drive, whoever recruits the most members who join the team, post their recruiters name on the forum and fold complete a given amount of units a week for at least a month could win.

I will also look into a logo, My thought would be a tachometer with flames in teh redline area and superimposed OC3D. Will have a play tonight.

i like the teams idea, but as chudley said up there very different pc specs maybe the top 4/6 spear head teams and then all the rest go into a hat and u randomly pick out names

i have seen about on my travels that chimp challenge thing teams race to 20 million points, didnt read much into who/when/how it was done

maybe it could be an inter team comp. north vs south obviosly we would have to have teams with similare setups maybe 1st to 1million points, most wu completed in a set time limit, most points gained over a set time limit just an idea.

I want to kind of expand on this idea.

Say setting a goal as a whole. For instance, you could say once our total points reach 200,000,000 those that contributed for the time it took to get there will be entered in a random drawing for whatever. Then you could put certain stipulations on it like having to submit so many work units each day. So like if a user submitted 3 (or more) work units or if they submitted work units that met a certain amount of points then that would count as work for that day.

Custom PC used to do a simple monthly competition where anyone who folded and got more than 20,000 points in a month went into a hat draw.

edit> I just looked at custompc's ranking and they are 7th so it seemed to work for them.

That last idea isn't a bad shout... A target and then once it's hit, only those who have contributed to it are put in to the draw. What the limit on contribution is isn't obviously up to comp owner.

If it's teams I wanna be with steve lol

I do like the idea of putting up so many points to be entered into a draw though

Yeah that would be fair. That way you'd have to contribute but you wouldn't have to have the latest in PC hardware to be able to win

As for a logo was thinking something like this

10780494518704860732.png

with OC3D blended in and coloured red and black.

Where it says RPM you could change it to read PPD . I did try to have a go but its been that long since I ysed Gimp I gave up :/

i found this while searching what about a fold away raffle. simply become a redline@OC3D community member sign up to the redline@OC3D team then start folding! every 30k points gets you 1 entry to the raffle and theres no limit to the entries so if you complete 120k you get 4 entries n so on you could alter the amount of point needed this could be run weekly or monthly hopfully help to attract more folders to
