Before I get started let me just say I am not new to F@H (http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=userpage&username=KING_OF_SAND) I have done quite a bit, mainly over the PS3 though. How will Nvidia effect F@H? I currently use a 6990.

I know you made a good wc-loop for the 6990,But folding 24/7 the 6990 will rise temps within 48 hours,as heat will build up,and the 6990 is producing a lot of it.

And it will produce some 15k ppd,same as a single gtx470 oc`ed.The new fahcore16 for newer AMD/ATI gpu`s(48xx series,5xxx series,6xxx series) only works with v7 client.Easy setup,when reading setupguide thorough.

Nvidia gpu`s(fermi cards) are a leading factor for folding,and will be for a long time.

I got one last question, may sound stupid or may be a stretch, but here me out.

Can I get a Nvidia GPU, say a 560ti and use that to fold while using my 6990 for other graphic applications and taking most if not all stress of the cpu?

Nvidia gpu`s uses 1-4% of cpu,depending on wu.But amd and nvidia on same mobo,dont think it will work.

IF your Mobo/OS/drivers can pull it off it should work with Folding. As you can assign a client to a GPU instead of letting it decide for you.

It is even possible to make both ATI and Nvidia cards fold in the same system. However thats more of a magic trick then a proven method

and there is no guarantee it will actually work.

Oh and Game-Over I think its scheduled for september this year. If they will make that is ofcourse not sure, It's still beta testing

so no one knows.
