I'm one of the lucky ones. I'm old fashioned despite my younger age. I'm lucky to have a girl that thinks like me.

But I do see where you are coming from. I used to feel that way until I got lucky.

Appreciated thank you, I do want a relationship but finding a trustworthy woman nowadays is like trying to find a pin in the Gobi desert, Been single for 7 years now, Dating random women on and off, Yet to meet one I could honestly say I trust, Most just seem out for a bit of fun or to see what they can get whether it's money or a free lunch.

So almost died (again) today.
Was driving on the freeway/highway(not sure what you all call it) going 70mph/ 112kph and all of a sudden everybody slams on brakes and half the people are skidding tires. Meanwhile, I slam on my brakes, but they lasted a whole 1/100th of a second and gave out. My foot went straight to the floor and I wasn't slowing down. I was going to absolutely destroy me and the person in front of me. Me likely dying, so I swerved to the right and came so close to the guy in front of me if I put my arm out the window I would have hit his car. While that happened, the car to the right I just cut off(I knew he was there I didn't have a choice) thank God saw what happened and slammed on his breaks harder and got to a lane over so I didn't hit him either. I probably wouldn't have hit him if he didn't but again super close.

All this happened in 1 second. Idk how I reacted fast enough. Was pretty surreal honestly. I saw everything happening yet also in my head saw what was also going to happen in the future and I just reacted with instinct. I'm glad everything worked out. I met the guy I cut off at school and told him what happened and at first he was pi**ed off but after I told him I lost my brakes he was cool with it and felt bad.

So I'm now sitting in my car with no brakes. Waiting to get towed. Yay more expenses.

Glad you're ok bud, I know the expenses suck but just be glad you're around to have them :)

Thank you Dice, appreciate it. I've been working on my car with my father and we got the brakes to actually work however I have to press pretty far before the brakes bite. It's safe to drive as long as I'm careful but definitely have to be on high alert if I do. I think it's safe enough to get to a shop. But I definitely am not going to be doing anything more than that until then. I can't trust it so I don't want to drive it... I mean brakes are kinda important after all. Nah who am I kidding. Stopping is over rated^_^

I know what you mean about being exhausted with my wife being terminally ill and having to put my cat down yesterday Im emotionally drained. I feel like a cloth that's been wrung out one time too many.

I had a very similar experience once dude. It was when I was living in the U.S. I had only been driving for about four days and had been to a mall with my ex wife. We were using her car as mine was still being painted/fixed etc. Any way, she had a brand new Focus. Like you I was doing about 70 MPH but as we headed onto the freeway it was getting really foggy so I slowed it to 50. It was like patches of fog. Any way, we went through this one patch of fog and as we came out of it there was this deer standing there. This thing was absolutely frikking massive. Like you I had no time to react, but instinct must have taken over because somehow I managed to swerve, miss it and then swerve back to stop me hitting the concrete reserve in the middle.

I've thought about that night a lot dude. How the eff did I manage to miss it with practically no driving experience at all? I think I worked out the answer.. Midtown Madness. I used to grab the Panos is it? very fast little car. I would then hit the freeway and drive along at top speed swerving like a maniac (I had a steering wheel and pedals etc).

I think that's where I learned the reactions and the behaviour of a car. How I didn't roll it is a mystery though.

Exc - I didn't know that about your wife man. I'm sorry about that. I've got an uncle who can no longer even leave the hospice so it will be days now rather than weeks. I'm finding it really hard too, because he was good to me when my dad died. Every time I lose an uncle it's like losing a surrogate father, because that is what my uncles were to me.
 
It's an unfortunate fact about life that we must face loss it sure a SH** don't make it any easier though. We just gotta hang tough bud.

Yeah. It's funny, but about ten years ago I somewhat boasted (I wouldn't really call it that) that my family was pretty much cancer free. But I guess in this day and age there's just no avoiding it really, what with all of the carcinogens we've made commonplace. Since then I have lost a non blood uncle to lung cancer (apparently asbestosis but never proven) then my closest uncle got prostate/bladder cancer (but thank f**k he got through it, though it's changed him forever tbh) and now my blood uncle Jeff is about to die. Only in his 50s too.

Sorry man. I really shouldn't be whining about this, especially to you, but I have no other means of release. I can't say anything to my mother (I have to be strong for her, her baby brother is dying) and again with the rest of my close family I can't go moaning because Jeff is a brother to 3 siblings.

But yeah man, sucks. Listen though man this works both ways. If you want to vent and moan I will be here to listen. I just need to get this out though I have been bottling it up for weeks now and it's not doing me any good (kinda turning me into a cold asshole tbh).

Totally no problem mate if you want to chat anytime you can just PM me or we can chat here all you like, and it's good to get things of your chest as it helps with the healing process for you and for me as well as others too if they want to join in
 
Thank you Alien for the words. I've been thinking non stop about it. You know life flashing before my eyes and all that. I'm just so thankful that I did not have anyone else in the car because if I didn't manage to get out of the way and had my girlfriend in the car and something happened. I couldn't bear that burden.

And I do feel for both of you. Family always seems to be getting hurt in some form and I've lost a family pet before too. All of it sucks.
 
So an article popped up on my facebook feed from Gamesradar about the new Wolfenstein game coming out and how it's been influenced by "All the real life Nazi stuff happening today".

I normally don't get drawn into such political stuff but it irked me a little as I'm into my history and actually being of German descent I had to correct them by saying there are no more Nazis as a Nazi was a member of the "National Socialist German Workers' Party" AKA Nazi, And seeing how it was abolished after WW2 it doesn't exist anymore, Anyone calling themselves a Nazi is just an idiot as the Nazi party i.e "National Socialist German Workers' Party" can only exist in Germany, Outside of Germany and WW2 it's just a bunch of wannabees and idiots and calling them "Nazis" is also giving them far too much credit as the Nazis, Although incredibly evil, Were very intelligent.

For this I got met with actual death threats from around 50 people, Even the admin of the page told me I should be lined up and shot for such thinking and then proceeded to ban me.

Of course I wasn't allowed to defend myself as is the way with these regressive types and even though I'm of a Jewish background I got labelled "Nazi", It's like trying to reason with chimps throwing their own feces out of their cage.

After that I realised 1 thing about A LOT of people today, Thinking for oneself, Objectively, With common sense, Facts and logic, Is an utter rarity.

I know how you feel Dice. America has it the worst right now with wannabe Nazi morons running around. I'm sure you heard what happened in Virginia, so many idiots. People call the non Nazi "resistance" crowd heros. Uh wtf? How is being a resistance a hero? It was a bunch of moron liberals against basement keyboard warriors who label themselves as Nazi's fighting against each other. So sad.

I guarantee my life that none of this would have happened if it started somewhere like Chicago. They would all have been shot. Chicago communities wouldn't put up with that. But anywhere else? Yeah it's easy to do. Because no one will do anything but pull out the camera.

I don't like getting political on this site for obvious reasons, our different nationalities gives us different perspective. But I think at least me and you can agree Nazi's don't exist. It's wannabe people who want to be heard.
