Funny how much an ear can screw you up tbh. I mean, it completely and totally throws off your balance. If I get up too fast I walk straight face first into the wall.

I know how you feel. I woke up four years ago with an inner ear infection and have had a permanent balance problem and vertigo ever since. I have been walking with a stick ever since. Make sure you turn onto your side before getting up and get well soon

The pain and itching have stopped but hearing is still only about 30% and still a bit giddy. Might have to go docs get it looked at :)

Leave a harmless positive comment on a Tweaktown article on Facebook to do with the XB1X announcement and 20 minutes later I receive a 500 word letter about how little I know and how I'm going to be brutally hospitalised.

I really hope in the future that psych evaluations become mandatory for internet access or at the very least for access to large online forums.

I got banned from KitGuru's Facebook because I disagreed with the guy posting...

I actively avoid all other forums or Failbook click bait articles now as it's just become a cesspool of trolls and dip sticks. You can't educate pork as my dear old mum used to say.

I thought that was the idea of a forum to get new news, and ideas hear conflicting view and discuss, to the benefit of all, not just censor and remove people cause they don't like it

Sadly in modern times any opinion that goes against what the mass herd of sheep say is quickly drowned out by loud bleating.

There's a big difference between opinions on the internet and real life, though. 95% of the people who go online and say the most awful stuff would not say boo to a goose IRL. An example to this.. A couple of days ago a mate of mine told me he was really gutted to see some Youtube comments about the holocaust, stating it wasn't real. Do these people come up on the news for walking into a room full of jews and saying that? no, of course not. Do you hear on the news "Man stabbed over difference of opinion"? no.

It's internet forums and comment sections that have encouraged this behaviour. Nothing else, no one else. You don't go down to your local coffee shop and see people sitting around arguing and debating do you?

Debate = argument. Usually on the internet. Oh, unless it's two politicians lining up to make themselves look like bellends.

I used to encourage it years ago but I have seen it taken to the extremes. And none of it is worth it, because we all return to our lives (if we have them) and forget all about it.

Any way back to the subject of the thread.

My uncle Jeff (my mum's baby brother) is dying of cancer. He developed a rare and quite slow forming leukaemia about six years ago. My mum and her sister had bone marrow tests to see if they were compatible, but sadly they were not. So Jeff has been living with it for years and was doing really well until about a month ago. Suddenly he could not eat or swallow any food. They put a camera down his esophagus and saw that it looked very swollen. They attributed this to the meds he was taking for the leukaemia. So they put in a stent to open him up so he could eat.

He still couldn't eat. So they gave him a full body scan and he's absolutely full of cancer. They admitted him to hospital that day and won't let him go home because he's currently being fed through his shoulder. They tried again in vain to fit another stent so he could be fed through the lower intestine but that failed also.

So he hasn't got long left. I don't know what is killing me more, him being the way he is or my mother about to lose her baby brother 14 years her junior.

Sorry to hear about your uncle. It's never easy watching loved ones suffer.

As far as internet debate I think its the anonymity that makes people go nuts. It's a similar phenomenon to road rage. In your car you're no longer James, 44 from Tas. You're a big 4x4 with the subconscious protection of your steel beast and people go nuts. The same people who wouldn't say boo in real life. We wear a different personality with our masks on.

Thanks Jim. He's receiving palliative care so he's been out of his nut for a couple of weeks now.

And yeah, you're right. Anonymity gives people balls they probably wouldn't have otherwise. I mean seriously you should see the racist comments on Yahoo, for example. Do we hear of people walking into downtown Brixton and calling black people racist names? course not, there'd be a lynching.

On the internet though? yeah, wall to hide behind.

There was this guy called Old Holburn on Twitter who hid behind a mask. He used to say all sorts of racist crap. Then some one hacked his account and got his IP. They posted his name and addy on the net, comments stopped immediately.

Funny that !

Damn man, sorry to hear that :(

Life, eh brother? if it ain't one thing it's another.

It was his birthday today. My aunt managed to talk the hospital into taking him out into the garden with all of the tubes and wires. It was a beautiful day down here too, really hope he enjoyed it.

I feel your pain. My uncle is currently on his final 8th dose of chemo for Esophageal cancer which had spread everywhere. He was diagnosed 6 months ago. His life expectancy isnt good only 5% at his stage last a year at most and its inoperable because its everywhere. He cant swallow anymore so has a tube to be fed. Its not looking good.
I hope your uncle is receiving the best pallative care. Its awful watching it. I went through it with my father years ago so I know the process. Stay strong AlienALX and enjoy the moments you have had.

Recently i was diagnosed with M.E./ Fibromyalgia and was told that i will probably never be able to work again. The doctor was happy that it wasnt cancer (which my uncle is dying from) or Multiple Sclerosis (which my dad died from) but decided to tell me that there is no cure and i will more than likely get worse.

I am staying positive. Well.. trying to

His wife has MS. She's had it for going on 30 years but has hung in there. 58 man it's no age. The only thing we are thankful for is that he did well in life and retired about ten years ago. Otherwise he'd have worked his whole life and then died before even getting a day off.

Thanks for that man I appreciate that a lot :). I lost another uncle to cancer about four years ago (asbestosis) but thankfully it wasn't terribly drawn out. He had back pain for a while and was dead two months later.

First world issues.

Ordered a new set of spoked wheels for my bike with mags on. I hate mags, they should die in the face. Any way, wait a week for the wheels to arrive then 1.5 weeks for the tyres after all sorts of crap and the cog/freewheel is 18 tooth and because of the size of the tyres the tyre rubs on the frame.

GRRRRR

Have ordered a 16 tooth but you watch, time it arrives the arctic weather will fookin roll in :(

Just witnessed a massive fight about some game on youtube in the comments section, Where do these people get the energy to start these fights ?

Seems kids not getting spanked and getting trophies for losing has had some severe repercussions.
