So a while ago I bought a i7 950 for £60. I got my friend's old MSI X58 plat to test the cpu aaaaaaaand it is knackered :(. The cpu is obviously on its last legs. I was hoping to get an OC on it, buy a couple of gpus and have a nice and quiet folding rig. LOL NOPE :c. I guess my next idea will be to take my ever faithful i3-550 and put that on the mobo as you can't OC on a dell motherboard ;).

for some retarded reason MSI keeps putting blue LEDs on yellow boards and GPUs. my mpower z87 is no exception. so i go into the bios and delightedly see the option to turn the LEDs off, just to read the description a second later. that option only turns the yellow LEDs off but the blue ones stay on.
why MSI, why would you do that.

also i had to write this post twice because it didn't post it the first time.

Could you not unsolder the LEDs or cover them with electrical tape?

I second the electrical tape, my mobo has a lot of blue accents then has a red and green power and reset buttons, covered in white electrical tape as to dim the brightness of them. atleast theyre not as bright and prominent.

Made the stupid decision to buy a chicken pasta salad from a bp garage last night and have had the sharts ever since. Im afraid of my own body right now

could do that but i don't really trust myself with a soldering iron next to a 1 month old 200 euro mainboard, not going to ruin my RMA rights that quickly. a cover up would probably look worse than the LED itself.

this morning at breakfast i had a pretty weird FML moment.
i was just eating my bun when there was suddenly an air bubble inside of it, i bit through it so hard that my teeth crashed together and a part of one of my lower teeth broke off. it was the weirdest feeling ever, it felt like biting on sand.
i was gifted with pretty neat teeth, luckily only the back of the tooth broke, so you can't really see it.
now i gotta go to the dentist and fill it up, damn am i happy that the tooth didn't split entirely. it doesn't really hurt, it just feels rough because i keep touching it with my tongue.

Almost an fml moment for me this weekend.

I put my Samsung Galaxy S3 on eBay and incase you aren't aware they don't sell second hand really past £200...I get this message from a guy offering me £370!...so we end up exchanging e-mails outside of eBay and he offers me an extra £30 for delivery because he wants it going to his cousin in Nigeria. So I get an e-mail from 'PayPal' on Saturday morning saying I have been paid £400 but before I release the funds they need to receive a tracking number from me to help prevent scams, so I go to the post office, and THANK FUCK the guy says I shouldn't send it because there are scams going on in Nigeria, he tells me just to buy the jiffy bag and he'll give me a tracking number sticker, send that and just see if it's legit. So I do and get nothing back (the funds should of released in six hours according to the e-mail) then at night I get another PayPal saying "Congratulations!!!!" which I thought seemed odd and unprofessional from them, plus there was a couple of spelling mistakes, so I checked the e-mail address and it's like pay_pal_ so I thought HA it's a fake, my brother in law Googled it and it came up in a forum as a scam.

Reported him, messaged him, the bidding continues.

Thank God I didn't send it, it would of been a £200 phone gone, plus £59 of my own money to send it.

Did you not check the date on it?

i assumed that being a busy garage everythign would be grand. i was wrong

exact same thing happened to my mate but they asked for the cost of the item he was sending aswell

They are little turds. I had a message from eBay this morning saying they will look into it and ban him accordingly anyway. He should be permanently banned though because he is a big time scammer doing that.

How did you not realize it's a scam when he said "send it to Nigeria"? haven't encountered any on ebay but gumtree is full of them, as is my spam folder.

I thought he was genuine, his story is he was British in the Army so needed it sending to Nigeria to his cousin straight away for her Birthday, he'd pay for the delivery charges etc.

can't think of a better place for a smartphone than in a soldier's pocket in nigeria.
if one's lucky it might even survive for like 2h there.

I'm presuming his cousin wasn't a Soldier. :p Whatever he is he deserves a massive slap. I just said "Reported. Nice try. Good job I didn't send the parcel wasn't it" not had a reply although he did reply via e-mail last night saying "You need to e-mail PayPal the tracking number for them to release funds". I felt like saying more to him but I'd get in trouble for what I'd say to him.

Fell of my bike. Now missing some skin on my knee and knuckles and bruised my shoulder. Oh, and there's a blood stain in my trousers... woops!

it's that time of the month again, huh?

BUY ME CHOCOLATE!

No wonder you fell off, trying to mod on these forums whilst on your bike. ;)

Ofc dude, I'm such a nerd I have a laptop mounted to my handle bars. Duct tape really does solve everything.

In all seriousness though, I can't really use the forums on my phone atm. There's this annoying glitch where every time when there's a background advertisement, and I click anywhere in the blue areas it opens the ad.

This means that every time I try to click a thread, post or button and I miss and hit the blue, it opens the website to PCspecialist.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind helping out by clicking an ad, but it's really frustrating when you type an incredibly long post on your phone, and just as you go to "Post" it takes me to the ad page and when I press back, the post is gone. :(

I have a 20 page report due in on Monday which I've had no time to start until a couple of days ago because I've been busy with interviews. For two days now our internet has been completely down and it may not be repaired until after the weekend, so I can't easily do any reading for my report. The only internet access I have is 3G on my phone which is slow as anything. Since we don't have a TV in our student house, all the TV we watch is online, so I've missed the last two days of the snooker, and without TV on in the background I have so little motivation to work.

Last night I was about to enjoy a nice yoghurt and it exploded all over me when I was opening it and I had banana flakes stuck to the crotch of my trousers.

It's going to be such a relief having no more work to do next week :)
