Ahhhh yeah! Playing Castle Telengard after waiting literally 20 minutes for it to load off my Datasette.

Thought I'd died and gone to heaven when it got my 1541 disc drive.

load"*", 8,1 FTW!

Mine (being an old git) was an Intel running at 33mhz with a boost button that did - well nothing. Running windows 3.1 in 8 bits.
The PC sounded like a dishwasher when it was running. BUT managed to make my first rave graphix video on it using an MS DOS version of 3D studio. Good times.

I see I'm not the only old guy around here. :D I started on a Commodore PET. First CPU I ever purchased was a P2-233, I think.

lol what was in the original Amstrads? that was my fist PC. unless you include the sinclair spectrum with its 20 min load times from tape.
i think i had to buy a Pentium 2 to replace on an old win 95 PC but i was 12 so i really can't remember

had a pentium 2 then a pentium 4 D, then E6400, followed by my Q6600 my sons pc is an amd A10 5400k i think and now i have my i5 3570k :D

My first was a P166 :D

It was some silly Time PC deal which was £3k+ but came with a free printer so much have been a bargain. Was about '96 though and don't think I went online for another year.

Wow. look at the massive range, good to see im not alone anymore :P
My first pc was a old compaq desktop case with a p120, was great for playing doom or duke nukem. Then it became time to get an upgrade, next chip was a 233 mmx.. I dropped away from the pc for a while due to playstation gaming being more fun for a while. Now i've come full circle back to the pc.

Not nearly as ol... as wise as some of the people on here it seems.

I remember the first PC I ever had was a crappy Packard Bell iConnect system. It came with Windows ME on it (which was awful even without hindsight) and it was powered by a Celeron 700 Mhz chip, 32MB of RAM and a massive 10GB HDD.

From there had three further systems built for me over time first of which had an AthlonXP 1800+, the next a 2800+ and then an Athlon X2 4400+. Newest machine uses an 1100T and is the first I built myself back in '11. Considering building a new one next year some time.

My first CPU in a computer (not a console) was a MOS Technology 6510 in a Commodore 64, though my first CPU that was bought separately for a build of my own was an Intel 80386 (386DX).
