First CPU you've ever owned?

Speaking of previous CPUs, here's something you can do to them:

They did during the first two weeks or so, but now it's fine.

I could've removed the pins manually, and as you can see I did do that to some of them at first, but then I decided to just deal with it. Removing pins sucks.

My first PC was upgraded by my father every year or so. When he wanted a new CPU or board he'd give me the old one. My first PC had 386DX CPU(1996), later upgraded to a 486DX(1997) then Cyrix 686 133Mhz (1999). The first one I build was a (This was 2001) Pentium 133Mhz machine with an AT PSU, it had 96MB Ram, a CD-Rom, 2.1GB HDD, 2MB Video card and Windows 98 SE later that year a dual boot with Windows NT 4.0.
Yeah so while everyone had a P2, P3 or P4, there I was with this old very slow gear.

My 1st cpu was a 486@66mhz my most memorable cpu are a AMD barton 2500 (unlocked)clocked as a 3200 on a Aopan ultra 400 nf2 mobo, and a Athlon II X2 235e which was my 1st 1 ghz over clock @ 1.35v from 2.7 to 3.7 on air 24/7

Still got a 486 DX2 66 - machine still boots (well did last time I tried) - Alien Wad for Doom still rocks......

First PC (so the Z80a in my CPC464 doesn't count) was a Amstrad 1640 with it's 8MHz 8086 :) EGA graphics and 30 MB hard card (Hard Dive mounted on an ISA bus expansion card).

I forget the exact model but it was an AMD chip that overclocked to 2.1 GHZ, Was just before the Core 2 Duo's were released i.e E6600 etc... Which was my 2nd CPU which was in a league of it's own at the time, I paired that with an Asus P5Q Deluxe and clocked it to 3.20GHZ, Awesome chip :)

Cyrix 166mhz with MMX.

Wonder if people ever remember Cyrix at all. It came in a Time computer back when I lived in the UK and a shitty little system still cost £1300 at the time.

First CPU i actually purchased and not just pulled from a PC world tower was the E6600.

Then the e5200 , e8400 and q6600 came along. Man they were fun to overclock, i really miss those days.
