If you go budget - at least get the new lines of products though, dont go back to sandy and fermi nvidia...

So how about this build? It's pretty much the one that andrewmchugh posted. I don't know much about the graphics card. What do you guys think? (I know i said 800-999 but I've got no monitor so that'll tack on a little bit.)

I'm willing to go a little cheaper on a few things to get this price down, then hopefully upgrade in a year or so. Do you think there's anything on here I could sacrifice a little bit. (And I just picked a random dvd burner. Any advice on that?)

Well I have a dedicated memory stick for it that I find so much easier to just install windows from. If you have an 8gb memory stick spare then just use that and you can download the ISO files online for free as long as you have the product key already. Saves some cash on the DVD drive, means you dont have to cable tidy anything and keeps the nice clean look on the front of the case.
My only use for one ever was installing the OS, so it was just wasted space after the installation.

I have the same 4GB is enough :)

Probably :)

I have SP1 and some other updates on mine though. Probably would fit on 4gb, but the 8gb stick was like 20p more when I bought it :)
...Then a couple of days later when I made another order from ebuyer I got a 16gb for 20p more than the 8gb :)

So say I needed to go cheaper and wanted to upgrade in the long run, would something like this bundle be a good idea?

I also found this. It's AMD, but the graphics card seems like it would run well enough based on reviews.

For the money that amd one is horrible, as for the amd one, for just like $80 more you can get a much better z77 motherboard and a 3570k. The 7850 is also slightly better than than the 6950
