Don't get me wrong, I think this move has potential and I look forward to seeing what transpires over the next few days

Good :)

With all due respect, responding to someones post like that isn't going to win you any friends is it?

I was merely stating a fact, it has been 1 or two days since events occurred and he has already found another forum to call home. Far be it for me to judge, but that does not sound like someone committed to a cause. I accept he may have other reasons and my post was not meant with ill-intent, but those are the facts

That sounds like you are belittling EP-UK. As has been said already, the EPUK forum was in no danger of falling apart after they all chipped in for hosting costs. In fact, as was pointed out to me, the forum was picking up again.

There are other factors that would have led to everyone being a lot unhappier in another couple of weeks time. XMS and myself actually care about what happens to the site/forum/members and domain. I can say no more as we have been asked not to, but we do hope we can help this get smoothed over.

It sounds like you are calling the EP-UK members ungrateful for something they ultimatly had no say in.

Not at all, I was merely stating that we are hopefully going to sort something out that you guys will be happy with, as you are quite obviously not.

If I can inquire as to which posts you mean: you only have 2 to your name under that user id

He didnt know that his epuk forum account had been moved and why would he? he just re-signed up thats why he only has 2 posts.

So i think he means all his epuk posts and threads, just like he says;)

Are you trying to be funny ? I think you know exactly what i mean.I would like you to (or give me the means to) delete all my posts that were moved here from extreme prometeia without my knowledge or consent please.

He means that since there is only 1 thickbrit registered as a member, who has 2 posts, you will have to specify the threads and we will remove them, since there is no way of searching for all posts by thickbrit.

No need to get testy

I think this is getting out of hand, as thickbrit said he wants all his posts deleted or at least let him delete his posts.

Looking at this i also would like all my posts deleted thanks, or if this is a problem let me have the rights to delete all of my old posts.

That's what I meant. I could delete the (well, 3) posts you have made under that user id, but I assumed you meant another one

Are you guys taking the P--s, thickbrit has 1000's of post from the EP site so stop playing around and do as he and myself has asked

Just to let everyone know, the e-mail that was sent out today was not sent by anyone in the OC3D Mod/Admin team. I would like to think that although I make the odd typo, I would never type an e-mail like the one sent out today ;)

Big shock, will wait to see what happens.

So far I havent received any email notification so have no idea what you are referring to.

It's not rocket science................... is it?

With the closure of the current EPUK forum and collapse of the shop the choices are simple and the information that you need to know about is this:

1) OC3D is in the process of the redevelopment of the EPUK site/forum which will be relaunched shortly - in the interim take the time to stick around here and see how it fits for you.

2) Most of the regulars at EPUK are now www.benchtec.co.uk

With me so far? Good let's continue:

Why not register at both places?

If you are not a regular then you now have two places to surf browse, share opinions, ask for help and you can choose which team (if any) that you want to bench for. Apart from picking a team (the only case where you can only submit to one place), you can simply frequent both sites with ease.

I do not see the significance of any of the other issues here, apart from the one where OC3D copied and pasted personal data without prior knowledge or consent from each individual user to this forum - probably with the best intentions, but certainly without realising what an invasion of privacy it really was.

I received mails from the OLD EPUK site (several actually) - I guess someone with the best intentions (Like OC3D when they invaded our privacy) has tried to send out a mail to make people aware (in the absence of any communication from the previous owner) of what is going on.

Granted (having received many mails myself) the spelling and grammar sucks - I get the impression that it was done unofficially in an attempt to help - clearly it's easier to flame that person for spelling and grammar, rather than to try and understand what was said, which I managed in about 5 seconds.

FFS it really is as simple as above, reading all the crap flying around the net right now about this makes me wonder who's turn it is to share the brain cell.

The conspiracy theory I have (which is not too far of the truth I bet) is everyone else (with something to gain) trying to stir the hornets nest or add more roosters in the hen house, whilst (like vultures) they circle waiting to pick up scraps of bewildered (yet very skilled and dedicated) overclocking personnel.

It's not a competition to see how far someone can pee.

None of the above is meant to upset or start a cascade of more BS - just a quick reality check on what has happened, and what people can do with the information they now have.

A great Amercian once said 'CUT THE CR@P' in this case it's a very remarkable statement and one I would urge us all to follow.

I intend to vist both sites regulary as I like what I see here - I will probably be in the benchtec team (if they will have me) but that does not stop me from exercising my right of freedom to browse where I can, gather information where I can and share my (limited) experiences on forums I choose to frequent.

Best Regards

Hannibal

Aside from the invasion of privacy (these people did agree to share that information on a public forum) it's not too bad a summary.

We heard EP-UK was in trouble and Phil was struggling, we offered to help him out and he accepted. We didn't want a split of the bench team, we certanly didn't want a lot of hassle, but we did want to stop the site/domain from simply going straight down the pan and having nothing to do with overclocking.

Whats done is done, we're working on a solution that will hopefully suit those EP-UK members who still want to bench in the EP-UK name.

Yes it was a slight niggle at those who sent the e-mail (I apologise, un-called for, but I've had a lot of late nights about this so I'm a little tired) . However; if you want to be taken seriously then you should send out professional e-mails I suppose. The main point was that OC3D didn't send it out :)

Anyway as Hannibal said: we hope some of you stick around and see how it goes: OC3D really is a friendly place with a lot of knowledge and a lot of good people.

Quit whining... EP was a forum... open for viewing by any Tom D1ck & Harry, if you don't like what has happend go cry to Phil about how your "privacy" has been breached.

The guys at OC3D have stepped in to keep you guys together... yeh yeh you can say how happy you all were before, obviously Phil thought differently hence he made the deal with OC3D.

*rant over*

just lighten up guys and be happy you've still got somewhere to post...

*sits and waits for flaming to begin* :nono:

You won't win many admirer's posting stuff like that, especially after what Hannibal posted was really just a reailty check and a plea to avoid such retorts.

I don't think it's so much the publicly posted information that concerns many of us - more of the fact of our personal data in terms of private information (emails, msn and such like) was taken and used without consult or permission, we could persue that arguement further but for everyones sake I hope we dont'.

That's not a flame by the way - but Hannibal made some decent points about 'cut the cr@p' and sharing brain cells.

I can see you fail miserably on the first and it wasn't your turn on the 2nd.
