presumably more members, which can only be a good thing, more expertese, more people to pool resources (in this case knowledge)

more members = more info = more fixed computers for those with problems, can only be good really :)

More experience! We're blessed to be part of the new EP-UK merger thing or whatever it really is... The more experience in the community the better I say!

Exactly what Ionicle, Frag & Joe have said. I really don't know how this could benefit OC3D in any way. The whole reasoning behind this merger was to benefit the EP-UK members.

It may have a different name over the door, and it may be a darker shade of blue, but its got everything you had before, and as we've already said, we're willing to help in any way that EP-UK may not have been able to in the past.

No offense guys but as most have said from EP-UK we where a small comunitie and even though we where small have achieved a lot in the way of bench test and are currently 20th in the world, as well as this i feel mistreated in the way this has been handled and feel all the guys at EP-UK have been ripped off as most of us put our hands in our pocket to keep the forums alive and would have done so every year.

I for one was in the process of trying to bring something good to the EP-UK forums in way of reconition from some of the larger companies and now this has happened so this is all my hard work gone up the wall.

Sorry to all you guys at EP-UK but i for one will be making some calls tomorrow and leaving plus pulling all me bench results from the HWbot site and moving them somewhere else.

If anyone wants to know where or what i am up-to then most of you have my number or can get it.

Sorry about this again guys but this is just the way i feel, we have all been let down badly in the way this has been handled given that we all gave up some moneys to keep the EP-UK site alive.

Regards to all

Sacha

excuse the cynicism, but why make any effort to help us at all?

something else thats important:

When HWBot is setup here....what name will it be under?

Sacha, I'm really sad to hear you feel like this

We were not aware that mebers had put their hands in their pockets for that purpose and anyone who has done so will be fully refunded by Overclock3D

EDIT: HWBot will be under EPUK, if that is the bench teams wish :)

I guess I don't understand why you would seek somewhere else to put up your scores and find a new online "home" when OC3D have offered the EP-UK members a spot to do this. Not to mention you can continue to bench for EP-UK, you don't have to make your results part of OC3D's.

I do understand where you could be upset if you had given monies to the owner of EP-UK to keep the forum up. That's something you should definitely take up with him, but OC3D had nothing to do with those transactions and therefor I don't think it renders a good enough reason to not even give us a chance.

Long live EP-UK! :rocker:

Sorry to see you go sacha, wish you would reconsider or at least give it a chance to work out.

I cannot see what you would be able to bring to the EP-UK forum in terms of recognition that you cannot now get as part of and with the support of one of Europe's biggest review sites?

EP-UK benchmark team is still EP-UK benchmark team and will not be affected in any way by this other than the proposed sponsorship and improved publicity.

You guys have an opportunity to really gain here, as do we.

XMS I'm sorry for my apparent complete lack of understanding but I as well as a lot of EP-UK members just wanted answers to the questions I posted and the answers weren't all what I was expecting to be honest.

I will stick around for a while and see how the merger goes, as it's been said the initial shock and horror of this has taken a toll on everyone involved in EP-UK, I for one have been there since day 1 and an admin on EP since a month in pretty much. Please excuse my initial outburst and that goes to all of OC3D.

As a (hopefully) respected member and mod of EP-UK I would like to request that our scores for now stay seperate to the OC3D ones until things are decided as to what is happening in that regard. I'll shoot you a PM about privilages and all that mumbo jumbo later on with a clearer head.

A few of us over at EP had an anual LN2 event and I'm just wondering if OC3D could provide us with some new hardware to thrash at these events to keep interest up for these. I know I speak for those who attend that it would be nice to play with new kit rather than our current kit and cooling and could also bring more coverage to the event.

I am happy to do reviews for you guys as I was starting my own teamUK site which fell through due to lack of programming time, as I was programming the entire site myself in PHP, but will send all this in a PM to discuss.

I would say to all EP-UK members that this could be good for us and to give it a chance, I will talk with XMS about an idea I have had, but to not get any hopes up for anything I will keep shtum about it for now. If none of the EP members or Phil have any objections to me speaking on behalf of the EP community in web matters.

Sacha could you PM me your number and times I can call you so I can put my ideas forward to you and see what you think, and also to chat as you are one of the people I most respect on EP. I have spoken to a few people before but nothing was decided.

Cheers

Boardy

PS. Cheers to the admin team for sorting out my login ;)

All it is - imo - another place to host the EP-UK forum - just as Tekheads etc. have done (doesnt mean OC3D own those stores does it?)

You can carry on benchmarking for your own team as before, carry on contacting one another + make more friends

I dont see why you should blame OC3D for changes regarding donations etc. - shouldnt that be EP-EK's owner's job?

Hi boardy and thanks for the post

Please add myself and XMS to your MSN and we can chat about possibilites of what you've discussed and what we can do to make it comfortable around here.

EDIT: and EP-UK bench team will be given full decision making choice in what they want to do from here, we are just here to host and facilitate and make this work

btw: I'm Matt, the other Director of Overclock3D :hello:

boardy, I've PM'd sacha, please ask him to read it if you have contact

Indeed true

No, but OC3D WILL reimburse anyone out of pocket as a result of that

Boardy, glad to see that you are at least willing to let things get smoothed out and put your best foot forward.

I think we can all understand and relate to what just happened. I can't say that I would be excited and such if this just happened to my online community. It's most definitely not an easy move to make, but I think that if the EP members take the time to get to know us, get to know that we are here to support you all and make things work you'll end up liking it here.

We too started as a very small community once upon a time a few years back as SysXtreme, and to this day I still consider OC3D my small tight knit community of friends surely as you all did on the EP-UK forums. Our forums are actually very similar in regards to how we think of them as being small communities of like-minded friends.

Can't we all just get along? ;)

:hands:

Totally understandable mate. As we've all said, I'm sure if you can find it in you to hang around for a while, you'll find that each and every one of our existing members is a total gem. All of us here at OC3D are an extremely friendly and close knit bunch, and I think everyone will agree that despite our higher member count, you won't ever feel like just another member.

It goes without saying. If you want the scores to stay under the EPUK name for ever and an eternity, then so be it :)

Of course, just PM me or Kemp or grab us on MSN / Teamspeak for a proper chat.

Certainly not wanting to flame one particular EX EPUK Moderator - so I won't.

Having had my MSN inundated with EPUK members - I guess we will all retreat, discuss and decide from there.

For what it's worth I don;t hold you guys responsible - from our perspective, we have just lost something that we all wanted to keep as was and was something we had to call our own and everything we did we did together - this is like going to high school for the first time, big and scarey - I liked my old sand box.

Free gear and all is nice, evenn to have under the loose banner of 'review' but can't we just have our site back, I would consider paying?
