Extreme Prometeia now part of Overclock3D!!!

Ok have to admit I'm a little annoyed about this, there was nothing asked to us over at EP-UK as to whether we wanted to move over here. I personally wanted to stay at EP-UK (no offence to anyone here), we had our own community, and our own userbase. Also what happens to those of us like me who were mods on EP-UK, and to our benching bots?

WTF is going on???

Sorry if this offends anyone but this is really disapointing and is making me think twice about coming back to overclocking after my 3 months out I have to admit.

Boardy

As boardy said above i am also not very happy with this situation, we where all asked to help out EP-UK in its time off need of which most of us at EP-UK done to keep the forum alive because we had our own Happy community of which we help out each other from time to time, and now this, if this is the case that EP-UK is know longer and it is now all OC3D then i am off and i know others will follow as-well.

What is going to happen with regards all the benchmarks that the guys have done for EP-UK are they now OC3D's ? again if so i am off and i will be pulling all my HWbot scores.

I am sorry if this offends anyone at OC3D but i do hope you can understand where i am coming from.

Regards

Sacha

Not to sound ungreatful - but this is the first I have heard of this and of course would like to understand the 'hows' and 'why's.

We received no notification of this at all.

As was said earlier in this thread: moderators, teams, benching bots and everything else outside of regular forum posters need to step forward so that we can get you back everything you had before.

The whole reason behind this partnership was to ensure that forum members of EP-UK didnt loose out.

As above ^ this partnership is designed to give you more. The EP-Uk forums were winding down to eventual closure, so OC3D stepped in to make sure that didn't happen. I'm sure if you spend more than 10 seconds here you'll realise what we have to offer

This was done without ANY discussion on EP.

:nono:

There was no discussion to be had afaik mate. EP-UK was on a decline and wanted to hand the reigns over to a site that would take care of its members.

As you may have noticed, the initial post in this thread wasn't aimed at EP-UK members. An email is being composed now explaining everything, and the message will also be posted on EPUK's site.

I'm sure full explainations will be coming from the EP-UK forum admin staff and such shortly to address all of the concerns being posted.

I would at least give this a shot, and everything is still in the transitional stages, I'm fairly positive we are still trying to get everything setup how it was over at your former forum. Give it some time, you might end up liking it in the longrun, never know!

:beerchug:

Im sorry too!

I have to admit it isn't right - alot of peeps have worked hard to make EP what it is today, and without intentional offending the OC crew, we have/had a very strong, friendly community of benchers.

Maybe if a little discussion had taken place within the community, as 'WE' are EP-UK, things might not be so annoying!

Im sorry if this is a little off, and sorry if I have offended any of the OC3D crew, you'd feel the same no doubt.

Regards,

AI

So what if we do decide to stay are we going to be offed, i think this is bang out of order as we all donated to keep EP-UK alive and with know mention of anything like this was going to happen.

So Tel me what have you got to offer all the EP-UK members that we did not have before ?

Well I for one enjoyed the independance - we, as a group, had already discussed the closure of the shop and were happy to remain independant and I would of been happy to pay for the upkeep of EPUK for that reason - that offer still stands

Of course we, as extreme overclockers would love to be sponsored to do our 'thing' and present results as part of a team.......... :)

Now it seems, without prior notification that all our hard work, blood, sweat, tears and blown hardware including our 3d results have been removed without notice or being given the oppportunity to assess our options, the 3d mark scores we have obtained over the past years are still our own individual scores.

I am not saying this is a bad place to be - to be frank I don't know it very well, but I stayed where I was for a reason and to be shifted over like this, is uncomfortable at best.

I think that some sort of notification/notice period first posted on EPUK forums would of been beneficial here, certainly I think this current situation (the horse has bolted and we're talking about who should close the gate) was avoidable.

I was admin/mod on EPUK.

I don't see how/why anyone would get the impressions that your hard work is being 'removed'. It's all still here, and it's all still in the EP-UK name and will continue to be until the original mods/admins want it changed.

As for moderators of the previous forum, I'd like them all to contact me or Kempez.

Hey Jimbo what's the EP-UK forum link that views the forum with the original EP skin and such? I checked the original EP-UK forum link and it shows the forums as being down for maintenance on that end with no reference to OC3D.

I'm just interested in checkin' out the layout and such from the EP perspective. Cheers. :beerchug:

I have to say after my initial post here that my feelings haven't really changed and I as Sacha would like to know what you guys can offer us that we couldn't get at EP-UK?

If you are going to offer the bench team a sponsorship deal or something like that then fair enough, we couldn't really get that at EP-UK, but if you are offering a bigger community and userbase, no offence but we were happy with ours as it was, and many of the members on EP were actually members here before this, myself included under the username "boardy" unsurprisingly.

I was an EP-UK admin but I doubt I'll get those privileges here but I have been known to be wrong.

If you could please let us know what is happening about the bench scores and what you can offer us that EP couldn't I think that will answer a LOT of questions that many users are currently having.

Boardy

All I can say is that the announcment first and foremost should of been on EPUK forums, posted at least teh same time as here- I actually found out about this from Chilled PC forums - great site by the way.

In regard to bench scores etc and HWBOT entrie i think its an issue - first OC3D has to be HWBOT registered in all the benchmarks we at EPUK currently compete.

In addition each contributing member has the right to change teams whenever he or she feels fit to do so.

I think we need to let the dust settle here - but I cant understand why the forum could not be left where it is and as it is.

We are not a big community and I think we are so tight because of that, plus it's a great place for EPUK guys to be.

I was admin/mon on epuk - Kempez, feel free to contact me.

Guys all your benchmarking results and work will still be here (more specifically HERE, as will your forum staff and privileges once you let XMS and Kempez know the details.

We have a lot of respect for your determination to keep EP going independently but obviously the people whos decision this was had their reasons.

As for advantages of now being here that depends on your values. There's my company for a start ;) And you're now entitled to several free postage and discount offers at various E-tailers (listed in the Support Forums) and are entitled to entry in frequent competitions and giveaways. But again.... there's me.

But as already said, we want to make the integration as easy as possible on you guys (despite the sudden start) now you're here and get things just how you like them so chiiill and discuss :)

Also this isnt some massive forum youre all going to get lost in, we're a pretty tight community too with a solid core of friendly and dedicated posters, if you give it a few days to recognize the names i'm sure we'll get on like pci cards in a motherboard:)

If any of you have any questions or queries drop me a PM and i'll sling you my MSN and try answer anything as best I can.

You will probably have your own EP UK section for your own bench marks etc. (dont quote me on this) - did you have all the discussions we have on your own board?

I'm sure you can still keep your identity whilst joining in with the existing community, bringing yours along with it

This isn't about a bigger community and userbase at all. For a starters, every OC3D member receives:

- Discounts at many of the best overclocking retailers in the UK.

- Top competitions. Heck we're running one now for benchmarkers to win about £500 of PC gear.

- A chance to be a part of more than just the forum side of things...We're always looking for intelligent enthusiasts to work on our reviews and news teams.

Ok, so that just sounded like a marketing ploy...but yes, in answer to your question we are willing to sponsor the benchmark team.

Admin: no, for the simple reason that there are only 3 admins on this forum. Moderator: as I said, drop me or kemp a PM and we'll chat with all previous mods and admins and get it sorted

What happens to the bench scores is up to the bench team. Just tell us what you want to do.

Guys, no doubt via other forums you have heard the news.

The admin/Mod team are as shocked as you all are at what is trnspiring - I am sure things will be a little clearer in the morning but for now it looks like this forum will now be part of OC3D - whether this forum remains is as yet unkown - but OC3D have ported all of our work into their site for now.

I just want to say again - being a moderator on this site has been a privelage and I have had ups and downs, locked horns on more than one accasion, enjoyed the competition with you all and enjoyed seeing new blood come through the ranks leaving us old boys to recall the time when were no1 for 12 months or so.

Overclocking Gladiators as you all are - I salute you all

OK here's what I think should have happened:

EP Userbase should have been asked as to whether they were OK with coming over to OC3D and we actually enquired about that to the owner.

He was keen for us to explain ourselves rather than himself, but we had to port the forum over before we could get contact out

The forum, hosting and domain name was all under threat and we had discussions to get you guys over at OC3D to keep your excellent community going under the OC3D name.

There will be leverage for sponsership with this partnership at OC3D and everyone who was a mod or in a team will still be in it, still under EPUK

I totally 100% understand why you are upset, but I hope you can see past the initial shock and surprise and we can get everything sorted.

We really are a friendly, furry and well mannered bunch and I'm sorry to those who are disappointed in the move...but again I totally understand
