External power / reset button

Has anyone ever seen something like an external power / reset button, be it custom or an "off the shelf" product?

My current case sits down on the floor and the power buttons are at the bottom front of the case, and are a pain to reach to. It's something that's been on my mind for a while, so I set about making my own.

But it makes me wonder if there's such a thing you can go out any buy ... I struggled to find any real product that'll do it, beyond a few USB based things.

Here's what I've made so far, more a proof of concept as I want to make it a lot smaller. Had a few keystone jacks kicking around so thought I'd use those for the connection between the box and the PC. Yet to put together the connector that'll be on/in the computer case.

I had the same problem, so I bought one of these.

Works well, with power and reset buttons, two USB ports, power light and HDD activity light. The centre of the power button lights up blue when it's on.

Comes with a PCI bracket that has motherboard headers attached for power, reset, HDD LED, and a USB header. Main unit has a long lead with a connector on the end that connects to the PCI bracket, and three self adhesive feet if you want to fix it to your desk.

Haha that's pretty much what I need .. shame it's coming all the way from China, but provided it works, I could stomach the wait.

Now I just got to work out what to use what I've already built for :D

A MODEM SWITCH

On a more serious note. I do remember seeing these at my local stores, so you might be able to find some in yours if you need it faster.
