Elric's Predicament

Elric Phares, founder of the 20-year old tech publication Motherboards.org learned the hard way not to cut deals with the devil big corporate media houses that promise accelerated growth of your publication in exchange for a share of profits/copyrights. According to a rant posted by Phares on YouTube, Motherboards.org joined the ChannelPro Network three years ago, a deal which typically sees Motherboards.org hand over its revenue-stream management and copyrights to ChannelPro in exchange for site (cosmetic/technical) and business (diversification/partherships) development, leading up to increased revenues for all involved, which according to him, never happened. To add to that, Phares had been noting financial irregularities. When confronted with evidence of these, ChannelPro fired him. In his video, Phares announced what will shape up to be a long-drawn legal battle with his former employer, and appealed to his followers to unsubscribe from Motherboards.org (as run by ChannelPro). Phares set his base of operations in his 2010-registered consumer electronics website, TechofTomorrow.

Wouldn't be surprised if this is just a big scam, No way am I helping that jammy dodger get $5K. His channel is full of rubbish, he's constantly trying to attract attention to himself (making fun of people/calling people out to do this) Elric earns no where near that amount so why should he get it. He doesn't earn my sympathy vote anyway. He could get the channel out in no time if he put some effort in and I'm sure he will get it but he's just being his typical self at this point.

First off, this is not a scam. Second, that's your choice. This is my honest attempt to help the guy out. His life work was just stolen from underneath him...

Just seen his vid explaining what has happened, man that shit is just wrong, no matter who it is.
I hope every single one of his subscribers unsubscribes and Elric takes the people who pushed him out for every penny they have.

This really is unfortunate for Elric. What bothers me about that donation page though is the money goes directly to this "Evan Bixler" guy, and who knows what he'll do with it.

Right now Elric needs all the support he can get. This type of thing make me sick! l started watching TTL and Elric at pretty much the same time when on OOA and there is nothing better than having a chuckle while stuck in a hostile environment thousands of miles from family. Building a computer from all the tricks and tips from these kind of guys. It may not have been a hotel l built in my head while OOA, however it kept me sane enough while on the job, keeping me from cracking when l came bk to the UK and had to re-integrate myself into normal life.

Regards.

C.

I am Evan Bixler.....-.- I have no intention other than giving every cent over to Elric.

No, I completely understand :) no worries :p I'm just another follower trying to help the guy out. Even $5 or £3 would help out :/

Never cared much for his content, but it's a shame to see this happen to someone. Hope the people responsible get their comeuppance. Last thing I saw was that Channel Pro was getting DDoS-ed - not a solution, but it made me smile.

Link removed. Dont post it again. If elric needs help he will ask for it.

Dont need people like you begging for him, its also easily turned into a scam which is why you have $0

Im really not down with the begging tbh.

This is making me think all kinds of things.

This one post could all but ruin his reputation.......

Desperate times seem to call for desperate measures, but this doesn't bode well in my eyes either.
If his fans have any morals they'd have left the main channel and awaited instructions on what to do next. He'd soon have his fan base up on the YouTubes earning the same revenue as before, so I don't really understand the mass panic.

What I don't get is if he is taking legal action against this company/person why did he use a public medium to basic trash talk them. Isn't that technically slander or something like that and thus could have his case thrown out of court.

Is it different in the states or something.

I know if it was me taking someone to court I would keep my mouth shut until the verdict so as to not give them anything they could use against me.

Well, he can say all he wants about the company that's wronged him. He has a damn good reason to. He is on his personal facebook, so he probably won't see any hate from the other side.
