Elite: Dangerous - Have we found the next Crysis?

That's what is drawing me to ED I'm the explorer type. I like to have lots of stuff to find

I love exploring as well but lets be honest... we will never fully explore ED. That's what makes it fun though. Its literally never ending so the replay value(i know the irony) always remains high because the possibility of seeing the same thing over and over remains low. Just makes it more immersive imo.

You also have to admire the EDs team response time.. OCt 28th beta 3.00 came out. Since then they have had 3 updates that fixes issues with bugs and connection issues that were reported.

And you also have to think.. 100 systems or 400 billion? I'll take 400 billion. CryEngine is a very good engine but its not designed to do the things SC wants it to do effectively. Its built around FPS not Space Simulation.

That's probably why they decided to turn star citizen into an FPS. lol

If I get it I will have a bloody good go at getting to every corner, every planet and when they bring in landing on planets even more to look for :)

I wonder after they complete most of the game, since we can all land on planets if they would expand it and add like mini games or something on planets and earn bonus's or something and win fuel or rare cargo? That would be cool.

Or expensive ships that are damaged and you need to have the right cargo/equipment like finding an old rust bucket you can do up

FYI TrackIR will change your life if you have games that will use it.
If you play arma you need it, if you play Elite, believe me when I say, short of buying an occulus, there's nothing better.

Is it just plug and use? And which button do you use for ED to look around?

and it'll cost you if you've not bought the dlc for life pass ;)

Luckily i already have the DLC pass. But even if i didn't, i much rather pay extra for the job done properly. The cheapest option is rarely ever the best.
Not to mention that a million dollars of funding money brought us a towel in SC. How's that for bang for buck.

It was one of the core features before they went full dreamboat.
Yea but they have gone full dreamboat now and it's time to leave the sinking ship.

There's some setup, to make sure you get the movement curve setup properly, and ensure it detects the game with it's software, perhaps some hotkeys for resetting centre if you shift in your chair. (very handy) but other than that it's mostly plug-and-play :) If you play Arma you'll probably need to activate it in the controllers list but then it's just done pretty much.

You shouldn't need to assign axis to it unless you've somehow unassigned them mistakenly in the past.

You don't press a button it's on a swivel permanently with Track IR :) Very natural movement
