Project E-Waste
In short, I got into 3D printing almost a year ago. I jumped in and bought a Bambu P1S. This hobby quickly became my entire life and I've since learnt how to model in CAD, specifically Fusion 360. Following tutorials and playing around with the software, I felt confident with my ideas and took on designing a chassis that can host E-Waste, in this case, a faulty high-end motherboard from a 2023 XMG laptop.
Everything has been measured and dialed in by hand, frustratingly put together bit by bit using threaded inserts along with M2/M3 hex hardware.
Now, I have something unique that was destined for the landfill, I rescued the motherboard and used my soldering skills to fix minor issues.
Specs:
12900H
3080Ti 16GB 175W +25W adaptive boost
64GB 5600MHz Crucial SODIMM CL46
1TB Firecuda 530R
1TB Samsung 970 EVO
Intel BE200 WI-FI Card
99Wh battery (internal UPS anyone?)
280W Chicony Power Pack
Artic P12 Slim PWM fan
I have no need for anything more powerful, it plays all my games at QHD with no FPS issues.
Temperatures and noise are fantastic due to the level of adjustment the BIOS offers, now that it is also in a larger chassis with plenty of airflow, CPU TJ offset is -10 so it never goes above 93c and the GPU has topped out at 73c.
