Does It Feel Like Christmas?

I'm just wondering... Does it feel like Christmas time to any of you guys?

To me, it feels completely weird. Normally, we get a real tree, or set up the fake one. Normally, we pick out Christmas stockings. Normally, we make sugar cookies, along with many other Christmas goodies... But no such thing this year. This year, it's just been "hey, what do you want?" "oh, I would like ___." "alright."

I asked some friends at school (before it ended) how they felt, and it seems to be the general feeling... This year just does not feel like Christmas. So I'm wondering... How is it for you people?

It just feels like any other ordinary day, even though there's nothing ordinary about it. A bit weird actually.

To me, it does not feel like christmas at all. To be honest, it feels more like easter or something, with it being fairly warm out side (Here in wales anyway)

I was wondering if im the only one, honestly if no one told me i wouldn't know its Christmas yet.

i guess you just stop caring after some time :s

It gets to a point where it no longer matters. Then you have children and it all changes. Suddenly, you live vicariously through their excitement, and Christmas is once again something to really look forward to.

Sincerely,
Josh's Mother.

I've felt different as I've been at uni this year.

It's just not right when you have to watch the John Lewis and Coca-Cola christmas adverts on youtube...

I actually preferred Xmas whn I used to work in pubs and hotels, I always used to volunteer for the xmas day shifts and loved it. ALways used to have a giggle with the customers and feed off their festive spirit. Really not the same when you work from home!

Id almost like a job just for xmas tbh :D

Yeah I've also been feeling the same, but It's the first time it's ever been like this...
Normally we have so much fun dancing around to Festive songs and putting up decorations, but this year was pretty Meh ~

lol Tom :D
And yeah this year i also dont feel very excited for xmas, maybe because my small brother (8 years old) is not around this year :|

I dont think its very christmassy this year either, i really hope i dont sleep in to lunch again for christmas :( My birthdays in January so ill be getting my system then so im more excited for my birthday tbh

Nobody thought we would make it (21st) :(
and personally i think its overrated , but i am a bitter person !

Oh, I'm the same way... I believe that most holidays are just corporate things designed to make us spend money... Valentines Day, Halloween, Christmas... All of it is so corporate any more.

As you're only 14, has it ever been anything different for you?

I don't even care if it's corporate. It's an opportunity to spend time with families and friends, and I can't complain about that :)

For me it never feels like christmas. The past few years have been pretty bad to the point that if it wasn't for the tree in the house and the odd present it would literally be another day.

That said there is still one christmas tradition that seems to be going strong. Every year on the week before christmas something bad happens me

Was in a car crash last friday where a lexus came out and hit the drivers door. I think it maybe the bad luck that comes before christmas every year that makes me hate this time of year and thus I cannot get into the whole christmas thing.

When I was little, I didn't notice it... But when I look back it... Yeah, it's always been this way. The first thing I had to tell my girlfriend was that I don't believe in holiday cards, so she won't get mad if she doesn't get a card for every stupid holiday.
