DFI SLI - DR probs.

Hi All

I seem to have a prob with this motherboard!

Every time I have a software prob and I need to re-boot, I cannot boot back into windows or even the bios!

I get 4 red LEDs and nothing.

I have to jumper the bios to clear it, then hopefully it will eventually boot into the bios.

Then I re enter my settings and away I Go!

Any help please?

I have the latest bios update from the DFI website but I have never tried BETA Bios.

Well it's either:

1) clocked to high

2) Got condensation in the socket

3) you have a power distribution issue (power not set across rails correctly on PSU).

Solutions:

1) drop the clocks down on the CPU or up the voltage (try LDT volts at 1.4 and chipset volts at 1.65 as well) Ram may be undervolting too, drop 2.9v through the ram

2) Inspect Mach CPU cooling Head for condensation (internal inspection required, including removing the CPU) dry out with warm (not hot) hair drier , leave for 24 hrs and re-seal.

3) drop a graphics card out first see if that helps, if not then move the molexs around to different components, also try supply one ot the GTX PCI-E connectors using a PCI-E adaptor using 2x molex from the PSU (not the PCI-E connector)

Good luck

I have gave up trying to boot up last night, came down this morning and its working fine again!

I have looked at DFI street, and the 4 LEDs boot prob seems to be a common fault.

No one seems to know how to fix it though, most reckon its down to the PSU which I doubt.

I suppose it might be a Heat thing?

Possibly - have you gat a fan cooling the mosfets (cover as many aluminium heatsinks fitted on the board as possible) and the ram?

I have 1 blowing air onto my 2 graphic cards, and 1 blowing air onto the ram sockets.

My temps still seem high though 68c for the PWA Area, and 58c for the Chipset. The bios shows Cpu @ -5c

Are these too high?

Thanks

What BIOS u using? I flashed to the FX-60 BIOS on the offical site and it worked wonders for me on air.

You should try it if you havent allready :)

your PWM and chipset temps are high, although the chipset will be hotter with SLI enabled.

My PWM is/was only 38? (Ultra-D tho)

Sorry to butt in here but i have the same motherboard and on smartgaurdian my chipset volt is 1.16v in red,i have up the volts in the bios to 1.5v but it`s still red?

Use MBM with the files from dfi-street, mbm rocks !

I have down loaded and installed MBM5 with the files from DFI-street and my temps are sky high.

My Cpu I ok at -11 on MBM, but my PWMIC TEMP & NF4 Chipset TEMPS get to just over 70c when playing games.

( They are around 50-55c when not under load )

Is this ok or will it harm the motherboard?

Thanks

Ooo ouch, they seem just a little high. Mine are around 35 when in Windows and about 40-45 when been playing games for a bit.

Yeh gods knows why?

I have 2 Fans blowing air from outside the case onto the board and 1 big one blowing air out.

Plus the voltages are all quite low so thats not it.
