hey guyz

ive been told that the DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR EXPERT is a bit buggy...........

is this true?

and if so have they released a flash that fixes it?

and what would be the bugs?

there where bugs, that used to fry cpu's all over the place when they first came out but a bios update has seemed to have fixed it all :)

Guess it depends on what you consider buggy... Most DFI NF4 boards don't work top notch right out of the box, they take a good amount of setting up and tweaking to get running flawlessly. They also don't work for beans with some manufacturers ram. But if you get a good combo of parts and spend the time setting them up properly they're absolutely unbeatable.

As bloodthirst mentioned they used fry cpu's but DFI released a bios update that fixed that "slight" problem, hehe.

i guess the chenobil disaster was a "slight" accident then eh :P

neways, how u mean setting them up properly, can u give me some examples?

as this will be my first time playing with a DFI board, i need all the help i can get.

hell........my msn is modem7@hotmail.com

if u think u can help a nub with a thirst for knowledge, please add me, id love to talk to you.-

Well you need to know your DFI's and what makes them run correctly. Most importantly a well matched BIOS to your RAM. This is like so uber-important I can't even stress it enough. Secondly having your ram timings / settings correct. DFI boards love for you to have your ram tweaked to the max. You also need to know what slots your RAM is going to work best in, etc.

Put it this way when i had my system and run it the first time and wanted to check the parts to make sure they work ok. I run Memtest to check mem chips at default i was getting something like 20000+ errors :D After tweaks and proper settings 100% Stable , 0 errors. So which ever memory u r buying learn about them and change your settings accourding to that.
