So a relative the other day asked me to be biuld him a new PC. So I went straight to the trusty OC3D team for advice.

Anyway I want to biuld him PC around a i5 - 2500k total price around $1500 AUS.

He won't be overclocking. As i am new to 1155 the Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4-B3 Motherboard ($199 AUS) looks like the best (Price vs Performance Ratio).

Any suggestions on a mobo of simliar price, can be any brand.

Thanks guys in advanced as I know with how much you have already help me I will be on my way soon.

I have the UD4 and love it if you plan on using the cpu's intergrated graphics make sure you get the GA-Z68XP-UD4 not the GA-Z68X-UD4 the X doesnt support onboard graphics where-as the XP does

@AdrianD2, Yeah i was looking at the MSI board i can only find it in a "Z" vesrion http://www.pccasegea...oducts_id=18108

@S_I_N, He will have a dedicated graphics card, but how well is yours treating your stability wise? And how will it effect him if he goes down to the UD3H and its variats?

shes stable as a rock bro been up to 5.4GHz without any major issues only thing holding me back atm is better cooling so if thier running stock any of them will be good. And I wouldnt look at P67 boards as they are EOL now with the Z68's getting the lub now.

@S_I_N, well i have been on the search now for a few hours nd this is what i can gather.

It's Down to the "Z"

The Z68X UD3H - Has on board graphics and is low end of the Z68. ($169)

the Z68X UD3P ($199 AUS) And UD3R ($185 AUS) are pretty much the same as far as i can see http://www.gigabyte.com/products/comparison/list.aspx?ck=2&pids=3850,3851,3853

So The Z68X UD4 is the most expensive at ($215 AUS) but with unknown benifits.

So the question is which of these makes the most sense to buy? And what is the differance becuase i cant see any?

well seeing as its for a relative and prolly not going to see any oc's I'd go with the least expensive that has the options you want.

Thats the thing i'm not even shure whats the differance. I think i may be going just for the least expensive.

I would recommend anything from ASUS. Gigabyte is also good but i'm against it because S_I_N is for it

I'd honestly recommend just looking up the tutorial on how to OC the P67/Z68. It's very simple and it's free performance. You'll find even the UD3 would probably give a nice clock. I had never overclocked and I learned how to OC my P67 in 5 minutes

Yeah i think that the best choice in this case might be the UD3R just based on price, from what i can find out it should be sufficent if in the the future the person that i am building this for developes a tast for overclocking.
