Dangit! Which one?

The belnea one is VGA only, so the other one seems ok. Altho I've never heard of the make.

You can get Video7 ones for around £200 with DVI+VGA and they look quite nice aswell and are at least a known make.

Altho I was thinking of going for 22" but they are all TN panels and to go to 20.1" wouldn't be much of a jump for me from 19", so I'm waiting for 24" ones to go down in price atm

but the Dell is 20.1" and not 22"

If you were to go dell I'd say spend more and get the 2007 which has a S-IPS screen (and loads of connections) rather than the 207 which is only TN :(

How much more are the 22" dells?

im on 17" atm and want a sexual monitor to show off its clarity blah blah without saying "Yea i spent my life savings on it"

But 20.1 or 22" doesn't make a huge difference as they're the same res. Plus Dell's TFT's are far superior to the other two imo

Samsung panels are very nice

I've only seen 22" Dells in Canada and Japan. I don't think they have sold them anywhere else and I've not seen them on the dell site??

Here is a comparison in size:

20" WS is the same height as a 17" 4:3 :(

Aye and prone to backlight bleed, which the new ones seem to be surviving

Is that similar to the 2007WFP's banding problems?

Or have they sorted that now

So the dells are a lot better? I thought they were basically the same screen reframed. If you reckon that dell is a sweetun ill go for it :)

I think most of the 22" screens are basically the same, which is why they are all TN panels. Altho some like the Asus are overdriven a bit more (2ms)

The dells look nice and on OcUK you get 4yr warrenty instead of 3yr warrenty. I think it depends on what you will be using it for tho (viewing angles etc). OcUK announced a sale on the Dell monitors today.

The 207 is only £200 and looks quite good, but is TN so not as good colours and not as good viewing angles also overdriven which gives better response, altho I think dell and Asus have told customers who get tearing/banding to disable overdrive which means the response goes higher I guess.

The 2007 is quite a lot more at £280 and at least you gain a S-IPS/MVA panel with higher colours and loads of connections with PiP :) also better viewing angles.

But then the height is the same as a 17" so is it worth it? :)

I wouldn't like to make the decision, which is why I am still on a 19" :) but if you're going for TN panel would you be better to get the 22" and have more screen size for the same price?

Yes WS IS worth it. Once you have tried using a widescreen monitor then you will know that they are far superior to standard screens for general use, gaming and media use

So erm which am i going for? Linky? :p all those codes scare me

I'll be purely gaming and general use in between

Definitely for for a Dell or Samsung. I went from a dell to a Samsung widescreen from a 17" 4:3. Big improvement.

Dell monitors are mostly rebranded Samsungs or one other brand (i forgot the brand). I like the Samsung's buttons better though.
