Cutting down Vista

Right well I've just installed vista on my old XP partition - 10GB. Which was more than enough to hold XP and all its temp files, while I installed all my applications on a separate partition.

When installing it said I must have a minimum of 6.xx GB free so I figured 10 would be fine, hit Install and now its taken up nearly the whole 10GB. So what I'm asking is, are there any parts of Vista Ultimate that I will most likely not be using that I can strip out and gain back ~1GB?

Also, there doesn't seem to be any Vista32bit Creative Live! drivers available

Not that it's much help mow but you could use vlite (nlite for vista). I took my Vista CD down to 1.2gb and almost halved my install size just by removing some of Vista's crap.

Thanks, I might give that a go.

Will the XP Live! drivers run on Vista?

Also, is there a way to turn off the constant confirmation requests?

They probably will. I've got some XP drivers running in Vista for various things.

You can turn those confirmations off from within the Users control panel bit of Vista iirc or Vlite has the option to make a disk with all that crap turned off.

Also, you can shave 1gb off the install just by removing speech recognition. Hardly makes Vista XP with just that gone ;)

Creative have been in the poo lately with users over this same problem. Here is the list of those currently available, if you haven't already seen it.
