CPU getting WAY too hot

Hey guys.

I upgraded my PC very recently and this doesn't look like it's healthy for the CPU.

The first picture is it running at stock, the second with the BIOS X.M.P. mode, I don't even want to try to OC it manually if it's getting that hot already. This is running a Blend test with Prime95 for just a few minutes, CPU at 100%. But even then, it can't be normal for it to reach 75°C+ with default stock settings, can it?

I have a Thermaltake Armor Jr. and I'm running a i5-2500K, MSI GTX 560 Ti slightly OC'd, 4GB Kingston 1600 Mhz RAM, P67 Sabertooth and a Corsair TX650W.

I have a stock cooler on the CPU and a 120x120 fan on my frontside, primarily cooling the HDD. Do I just simply need more fans plus a proper heatsink/fan on the CPU or is the problem a different one?

Is it actually that bad to the point of being utterly useless under full load, even at stock settings?

That's worrying and relieving at the same time I guess.
 
its the combo of poor air flow in your case and the stock cooler mate.

you want to set your case fans up so the cool air is coming in, going over your warm components and taking the warm air out whilst aiding any heatsinks you have on the bits inside too.

Get yourself a D14 mate and you will never have to worry about high temps again.
 
you're better off not even putting on a cooler at all on ur CPU if you're going to run the stock cooler....

+1 with the aftermarket heatsink and more fans! good luck!
 
The cooler needs to be replaced but that being said even a stock cooler should work better that that. Also don't use the BIOS X.M.P. mode to overclock just look how much it boosted the voltage for such a small overclock.
 
Just put in my aftermarket cooler, a second chassis cooler and an assistant fan and this is my 100% load temp running @ 4.3Ghz 1.25V:
 
Scythe Mine 2 as the CPU cooler/hs, Scythe Mini Kaze as the assistant fan and the default chassis cooler that came with my Thermaltake Armor Jr., a TT-1125.

All in all it's considerably louder now but I think it's worth it. :­)

@ 4.7 Ghz 1.35V it's around 65°C but I don't think I'll need it that high for now anyway.
