Hello All,

not posted anything for a very long time but just getting back into the swing of things.

I have a CM Cosmos 2 case & would like to have an acrylic side panel or window put in the side panel.

Can anyone plz advise ??

many thanks
andy..:)

i can't do it tom i'm afraid i'm registered blind
& can only just see past the end of my nose :o lol

so i would do more damage than you could imagine.

i know chilled pc used to do them but are they still trading ??
i tried email & phoning them but no reply at all

cheers for the reply though

I dont think they are no - I actually dont know anyone that does anymore seeing that mose cases come with windows now

I hate to be 'that guy' but I'll say it,

(I'm still trying to also be respectful)

If you can't see it why do you want a window? And there again, even if you did mess it up, would it really matter? :P

(I'm trying to be tongue in cheek, please don't take that offensively)

i don't get offended - and i will be able to see it.
i have very limited sight & i won't do it because i don't want to make a mess of it, & i'm certain i will.

would rather pay someone to do it properly if that makes any sense

side pannel for comos2

you can buy theses from kustom pc in Scotland they get them straight from mnpctech they are a little expensive though roughly 135 quid but they haven't got any stock they have to put on order. they do two tipes plain or with two fan holes at the bottom.

Cheers for letting me know I will have a look at them

Cheers again for the reply 👍

IIRC the window for these cost around £200 or more. It's because they were curved.

So IMO if you were prepared to pay that I would just spend that £200 on a new case. EVGA's new one looks quite nice and is huge, and there are plenty of other options with proper glass panels for that much money.

I thought about chopping a window in mine, then realised I never once even fitted the side panel lol. You could have had mine, it all ended up down the local tip.

you are quite right - got a reply from custom pc regards the clear side panel & the lead time is about 8-10 weeks & the other factor is the weak £ so he could not give me a price.

So going for a new case & will be selling the cosmos II.

Good choice. The Cosmos II is nice but there are plenty of much better and up-to-date.

Chances are it will be much easier to mod too.

Probably your best option, custom parts ere expensive unless you do it yourself.

Any idea what case you want?

no not a clue as yet - i want a case as big as the cosmos 2 any suggestions appreciated

You need to bear in mind that the Cosmos 2 wastes an awful, awful lot of space. It's quite poorly laid out too. I tried to fit two 120mm AIO coolers into the front but the front was too far away and they wouldn't have fitted any way.

The newer cases are much better on the layout, so theoretically you could get away with a smaller case. I don't recall if you've said what you have in there but a list of what you do would be a good start.

If you ask me, I'd say the Corsair 900D was by far the easiest to mod for me. Well in terms of changing the side panel to tempered glass that is. Everything else was pretty much per usual.

drilled a few holes for the expansion slots though. Oh the horror of changing cards in that case......
