Coolermaster Cosmos 1000 "ROG" Custom Project

So I plan to document this entire extensive project, I wont be starting it for two or three weeks, but I've been doing ample research, and will use this as a venue for questions and sharing.

As stated in the title this is a full custom project with an Asus "ROG" Theme for a Coolermaster Cosmos 1000.

I've contacted Asus for specific color codes for the ROG logo, if anyone else has any information to contribute to this that would be of great help. (obviously need to find this out before I purchase my paints).

The general basis for my plan, is to take an otherwise "silent" case, and turn it into an open case in a sense. I will be putting on black A.C Ryan Mesh, on both side doors instead of the billet aluminum in the form of large mesh windows. As well as mesh on the top, and possibly other area's though i'm not 100% sure yet.

I will also be "updating" the case, in the sense of most people that had any issues with this case was due to cable management, So I'm looking to resolve all of those issues by taking the dremmel to it.

I'm also debating on going to watercooling, so I may do some preperation on the top and bottom for a 360 rad at a later date (might as well do it while I'm at it, less work later).

So what's the point of starting this thread now? To document for myself, as well as get potential help from others before and during the process. If you have any questions on plans I dont cover or any input feel free to jump in.

Current (growing) list:

3x sheets black A.C Ryan Mesh

12ft U-Channel molding

Hand rivet gun & rivets

Appropriate heads for dremmel

Scotch 4010 tape (always useful)

Primer

Black Glossy & Matte paint

Red paint

White paint

Clear coat

Wet sanding paper 300-1000 grits

Plexy wet sanding blocks

3M Rubbing compound

Clamps

Black rit dye

Cooler Master Excaliber 120mm x 6-7

This is all off the top of my head, most things I dont have listed as far as tools I already have.

I plan to do the inside in a matte black finish, and the outside in glossy black & red, with ROG "eye" logo's on the screen on each side.

Really going with this theme as one I think Asus is a solid company, and two it will match all of my internal components

.

Also plan to use black rit dye as per the guide here so I can dye my noctua fans on my NH-D14 to match my theme.

And switching out all other fans to Coolermaster Excaliburs.

I'm screening both sides for uniform.

If anyone has any questions or input at this time shoot. This is the first project I've taken on of this "magnitude" however I'm sure I can get it handled..

I'm basically doing this because I'm tired of fighting with airflow and cable management in my cooler master cosmos.. Yet I just cant part with such a quality case. So might as well do it up right! Any input on idea's or tools you think I should grab to make life easier let me know.

When you dye your noctua's, make sure your very careful when glueing the motor back on the frame.

I'm sure u have seen my guide just thought I'd concrete that part in.

Can't wait to see progress

I will post pictures this weekend.. well my weekend (Tuesday/Wednesday), will be "pre" shots of current set up with sucky cable management limited by case, as well as current temps and set up.

Planning on doing some cuts this weekend, more or less because I can, even though I dont have all of my materials yet. As well as filing and sanding the corners for smoothness.

Door panels and cuts for cable management as well as filing them down. Will update as I go but as I'm sure you can all imagine this will be a long project.

@Firat, thanks for the heads up, I plan to follow your log as closely as I can in order to yield a good result.

I'm also talking with martin over at phsychosleeve.com

Plan to sleeve all of my cables for my Cosair 1000watt modular, as well as case cables (power, reset, led etc..), and fan cables in the Black/Red/White/Black "RoG" theme as well.

**update** got a coworker who knows a local guy who does powder coating, so looking to get my internal matte black powder coated instead. Hopefully that pulls through.

Nice i can't wait!

I love ASUS and their ROG series

And those boys at psychosleeve know what they're doing

Lots of craziness going on in real life right now, and looking at moving soon.

Will work on this if I find the time, but on hold right now due to more important things.
