Cooler Master Cosmos 2 Count Down Clock 5 Days Time ..

well we all know SieB will be on it like a fly drawn to honey bet he beats TTL with a review

Don't think I can afford one strait away Christmas has put a creator in my wallet

Elysium. A real water cooling case, without the gimmicks and stupid tacky looking mobile phone buttons.

Wait, what?

The Elysium is a big plain box that has nothing to it other than size and some of the features that it does have are restricted by the design, see TTL's review.

The Cosmos II is a real watercooling case and has a load of features, not gimmicks, actual features. If you don't like the look of them fair enough, each to their own but they are not gimmicks.

Why would I want to see TTL's review? Am I not capable of like, making my own mind up?

No disrespect, but I can't even remember the last time I listened to a reviewer. Most of them just big up a product because that's what they're being paid to do, and woe betide them if they're actually honest and point out the flaws.

Kinda like the website that gave NFS : The run a 90% whilst failing to mention that

1. It was pointless trying to use any controller other than the 360 controller as the support just wasn't there (given it was console slop) and

2. It was locked to 30 FPS.

The last time I think I listened to a reviewer was when I recommended that my friend get a Phantom. Lesson learned.

You are always entitled opinion, but before many of us spend lots of money on something computer related, we go to someone who has much more experience that us; TTL.

And TTL is one of the only reviewers that really do give an opinionated view on the product that I know of, so you are partially correct

I didn't mean it as listen to TTL to deiced whether it is good or not, you were saying that the Elysium's features weren't gimmicky and I mentioned that some of them are restricted by the design of the case and I mentioned Tom's review because he explains about them in the review and shows you in the video review.

Obviously you shouldn't base all your decisions on a review for the obvious reasons you mentioned but you can still see the good and bad points of the product.

As for controller support for NFS and other games that only support 360 pads there is an emulator that will make the game think any controller is a 360 pad, it's called "x360 controller emulator" funnily enough

http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/

I have used it myself on a few games that only let you use an official 360 pad with a non 360 pad.

Tom gets about three days to take a product in and review it. It's a job.

It's the same for every other reviewer. You don't get the option to spend a couple of months with something.

And that's why none of the reviews of the Phantom noticed its glaring flaws.

So instead of using a review I just find some one who owns the case and watch their build log before making a decision. The fact is that this case (the Cosmos II) looks really cheap. They have obviously cut corners, so a TJ07/11 it ain't.

And I can see that just from looking at the photos of it that have been released already. I don't need a reviewer or any one else to tell me that.

As for me being "partially correct" ? that's a new one on me ! My opinions are based on my judgement. And after going through hardware like water goes through a tap I usually find them to be correct. Opinions are opinions. Just because yours differ it doesn't make some one else's opinions wrong.

Here we go. This, for example -

Looks like they just took a photo of a Motorola Razr and said to the designer "Blow the pic of the keypad up and slap it on the case. Don't worry about it looking tacky, I like it"

Which of course has ended up in it looking crap, like it was copied straight from a Motorola Razr (because it was) and stuck on the case. Making it look very cheap, given that they really ought to have designed something themselves and not ripped it from a mobile phone.

Am I partially correct about that too? or do I need to have a word with my eyes and tell them to see it differently?

ok girls back to ur corners. ur right we all have opinions and that does not make one right or the other wrong. I myself kinda like the sleek look to those buttons way better imho than clunky knobs

Apart from the way the light reflects off it they look nothing alike

If you say so.

Look man, I don't know why you waste your bloody time.

There are going to be times, on forums, that you disagree with some one.

You can either keep banging on trying to "cleanse them" or just leave it.

Personally I don't care what people think of this case. That's totally up to them. But, I don't do "totalitarian" forums where every one agrees and lines up to kiss each other's asses.

I don't like it, and nothing you say and do is going to change that. So I would just give up mate.

I think you are mistaking me having a discussion about the case with me caring about what you you think.
smile.gif

If you don't like it then fair enough, you said the features were gimmicky all I did was say they weren't, which they aren't, please explain how they are a gimmick and not actually features if you think otherwise. You also said the fan controller looks exactly like the razr, I showed a pic showing it doesn't.

I'm not trying to "make" you like it or sway your mind, I was simply having a discussion or at least I thought I was

On first glance I thought the pic he posted was a keyboard on a phone.
ohmy.gif

It doesn't look gimmicky to me, but it does look thermaltacky. I'd have to actually use the buttons to see if they feel cheap. If it's well built, I can look beyond a cheap look.

would rather have a tj07 tbh sure it takes a bit of dremelling and a £30 powdercoat to "modernise" it but its beautiful and for watercooling there is nothing better (imho).

Tacky. Yes that probably sums it up well.

Everything about it looks tacky. the fan box thing in the inside looks like cheap plastic too, again, tacky sums it up well.

If they want more than £150 for that thing they're going to have problems shifting it. It's just plastic and steel overload, without a hint of quality in sight IMO. But let's remember that is just my opinion on it. Just looks like a big overgrown lump of plastic.

I think the only company who truly has classy and cheap down pat is Fractal with their core cases. And that's because they kept it really simple.

A discussion over what?

I don't like the case, you seem to. What is there to discuss?

What you tried to do was change my opinion. And you won't.

If you don't care what I think they STFU about it. Stop whining.

No need to fight over a case guys

. Each to their own
smile.gif

I've always wondered why it is that when you visit a forum of any kind there's always some smart ass who thinks he can change your mind by continually banging on trying to persuade you.

You're right of course, each to their own is perfectly apt. Yet some one will always quote some one who doesn't go along with their ideology and try to persuade them otherwise.

Which is, after seventeen years of using them, the single most annoying thing about internet forums.

This happens in real life too. If I feel I am right I will try to persuade someone to my side as well. Something like looks though, comes down to personal preference. If someone were to say, "I love Bulldozer because it's so much faster than an i7 2600k" I would try to change their mind because they are blatantly wrong. If however they said, "I hate that case because it's blue and I hate the color blue because it stole my girlfriend" I wouldn't bother even if I loved blue and it was my girlfriend. Facts are easy to point out, opinions, not so much.

Edit: I think we have gone off topic enough now though, less than 4 days and 4 hours now!

I also find that when someone has succinctly made a point, they often feel it necessary to re-iterate it ad nauseum.

We get it Z0mB13, you don't like the Cosmos II....you'd think after 17 years you would have learnt that forums are full of different opinions and nobody is trying to force feed you here..........dead easy really, when you See Cosmos II in the title, just walk on by
