Concerns after Installation issues and Thermal Paste Ryzen 1500x

Ok so
I finally got my 1500X and it seems fine, but i have a few concerns as i made a few mistakes during installation


Basically, i put the cooler on the wrong way and contacted the CPU and noticed thermal paste hitting the sides, so i attempted to clean it off and the thermal paste was..... weird... sticky


Im hoping its non conductive because with my rubbing with a microfibre cloth and alcohol, some of it got on the edge/green part and a little on the motherboard


So, After all that, i applied some Noctua Thermal paste, installed the cooler. and i got the first 3 screws in just fine, but no matter how hard i push , the 4th screw will just not go in and i didnt want to break it.


So i left it with three screws tightened, and the cooler does not budge, and seems pretty well fastened.


Booted up, everything boots fine, runs, and temps average between 35C and 50-60C in demanding game titles , maxing around 66C during CPU Stress testing with prime95 blend.


Anyway, is there anything to worry about? or should i just leave it all alone until i get my hands on an AIO Cooler

You probably need to loosen the others off a bit to get the 4th on

It will fit, its just working out what youve done wrong

I guess also my main concern was the thermal paste/thermal compound on the new ryzen coolers, it was really sticky and i was worried if its conductive or not. ive heard if its non conductive then its no issue if u get a bit on the sides

Sorry i didnt get back to you sooner. work kept me busy

Your suggestion worked, i loosened the screws and screwed them all back in by doing it slow and doing 2 twists on each screw in a pattern until they were all in

But either way i ended up buying a water cooler AIO, Deepcool Captain EX120 which is now in place and running perfectly

I'm glad that you were able to sort out your issue. It would be interesting to see how you chip overclocks with that cooler.
