Computer to phone software ?

All mobile masts are down in my area and I need to make several phone calls, Is there any software that allows phone calls from a computer ? I tried Skype but Microsoft in their infinite non wisdom has removed this feature.

Don't have a software to recommend sadly. But you could use Whatsapp on your PC and use it to call people? Or just use Whatsapp on your phone and call people using it.

I've only just downloaded whatsapp and to register it, it needs to send my phone a text message with code but I can't receive any code due to all masts being down.

Quite annoying.

That's annoying. Sorry didn't think of the registration process. Need to be associated with a phone number to work.

If you have Facebook Messenger and the receiver has that app installed you should be able to call/video chat that way as well.

yeah i pondered on this earlier instant thought was skype but other voip apps exist but nothing came to mind at that moment i was shouting at my screen
