Compressors in the UK

After a few months of fruitless interweb searching its probably a good idea to put the question out too the masses:

Anyone know a source of refrigeration compressors in the UK?

Ive discovered i basicly struck ebay gold with mine. And my best bet (so far) of getting another would be to buy one off a more etablished UK phasers, but i don't want to be pestering them if i could get them elseware without interupting their busy lives.

So, any ideas?

I spent some time looking but to no avail... Just found huge compressors. I'll edit this if I find something. Out of interest are there any common brands/terminology that will help refine searching? Also, budget?

Danfoss is the highend, the NF series is great.

Other brands include: (this is my daily ebay search " " + compressor)

Tecumseh

Copeland

Aspera

Embraco

Bristol

Rechi

LG

Try HVAC as well

and Refrigeration

Refrigerant

Refrigerator (might be too small though there)

Ive found some place that may sell them!

But they are hullav expensive:(. Electrolux looking to be the best bet @ circa £115.

Not cool*. Got mine for £40.

*no pun intended

I can get NL11F which I use for custom builds for £80. These are very good compressors for this job. Or if you prefer Aspera with 14cc displacement for the same money.

Both are 1/3 hp.

Temps I get with NL11F are -47 at 150 watts, -43 at 180 watts etc so good compressor and very quiet.

You make phase? How much? Would have PM'd but I can't for some reason!

Hi,

Yes I make phase of all types. Custom Single stage units, Double headed SLI, Cascades, Chillers etc etc. The whole lot!

I am not sure on the policies within this site on discussing prices. I know you cant on several other sites. If you want to discuss prices just e-mail me at ian.parry3@ntlworld.com

Thanks

Dude, just be a pest and ask around... They obviously don't just materialize in front of them whenever they need a compressor. I'm sure they would give you their sources for compressors.

Well NoL has put me in toutch with a guy whos got a possible source of very cheap compressors and condensors. Hopefuly he'll sell me a few, or trade them for some evaps that i can make:p.

Still in the experimental stage at the moment really. Check my worklog for the (ever so slow) progress so far.

Hey if you make evaps I would be interested in seeing them.

He's designing quite the spiffy evap TBH. I think it's going to perform really well, he definitely has the tools and knowledge of how they work to turn out a fine product.

Ham, u need to get a production line setup on those evaps once you get them finalized... There's probably a good amount of money to be made in Europe if u can turn out some solid evaps. Much less expensive than having chilly1 evaps flown across the pond for example.
