i am thinking about getting this headset, it looks good for £100 because it has true surround sound and it will match my case (although not important just a plus).

so do you think that they will be a good buy or do you think that for the same price i could get some better ones?

USB if you don't have a decent sound card although the on-board sound of your MB may be quite good. Try both and determine if there is a quality difference between the two.

Stuff like this royally pisses me off. Tell me, please do tell me, how in the world can a headset produce 5.1 'surround sound,' with USB jacks, you need more than one input for that, plus the fact you can't even simulate it using 2 drivers. 5.1/ 7.1 headphones are a gimmick.

It can't, but who cares. If they look good and sound quality is pretty good then that's all that matters to non-audiophiles

I can't live without good quality music Yass, you know that! People just get sucked in by marketing and will buy any old tosh. As I've said a million times before, you can get a nice pair of stereo music headphones and a desk mic or clip on mic for well under £100 that will outperform ANY gaming headset on the market.

Yeh I do know that

and you do make some brilliant points. The thing is most people just want a quick solution and just purchase products from a known brand. I guess if the more popular hardware sites did more reviews of some high quality (but less known) headsets, then more people would opt for stereo music headphones
