Choosing psu cables

I've been thinking for a while now that the cables for the asus 7870 in my pc are the biggest eye sore at the moment, and have been considering getting some aftermarket cables, preferrably nice looking sleeved cables. the thing that inspired me at first was the fact that its only using 6 slots of the 8 slots the cables have on them, leaving 2 slots danging in the air not plugged into anything.. quite ugly. also the cable itself is a eyesore.

quickly looked on my local distributor of pc parts just now and found these cables by bitfenix, says theyre extension cables however. does this mean i need to plug in the standard cable and then these ones into it? or can i get away with plugging it into the psu directly?

Product i'm looking at, i'm open to suggestions on other products available on the website or other trusted australian websites

considering red but thinking it may be a bit in your face. and i might also buy sleeved cables of the other visible cables

edit- in referrence to eyesores in my case, i know that the hardrive cables are making a mess but i cant do much about them, and the h80i doesnt fit upright.
and incase anyone is too lazy to click my sig

do i need to look for male to male cables?

okay i've learned that specific brands use specific pin patterns. ill have to use extensions either way apparently. or make my own cables which i'm not keen on.

As far as i'm aware the only company that do pre sleeved PSU cables are Corsair! your only options are to use extensions or to sleeve the cables yourself.

I've done that in my build log, if i can do it anyone can!
