CAT cable for printers

well i just wanted your advice on if using CCA cat cable would really make all that much difference over copper cable.

printers ill be using it for are

What are your distances like? I'm assuming your not going over say 30m or PoE? I'd say a few meters you'll be fine with either cable type, the only real issue with CCA is when it's a long run and it's PoE as Aluminium is weak compared to Copper.

they are at home but serve 4 desktops and 3 laptops. they are used to print work info (wiring diagrams, invoices etc so get quite a bit of use)

its about 10 or 15 meter run from the printers to the switch. whats PoE?

ive never used CCA before as all the rest of my cat 6 runs are just copper. all the cables will be put in the walls out the way

CCA is junk. There's a reason it's half the cost of normal copper cable. Those runs are short so it'd probably be fine, but I'd stay away from it. Use a solid copper cable.

even tho its only for printers i think your right. id be better off with copper just to cut the risk down of having to replace them at a later date due to breaking or something. as they say do it once and do it right

Given the length of your run, it won't be PoE (Power over Ethernet) but even with that said I'd go for copper cables and not the CCA (Copper Clad Aluminium).

Who needs cables to print?

Just get one of these:Canon mx922 and forget all the cables completely.

And it will print at 9600 x 2400 dpi.

thats all well and good but the room i have the printers in dose not get the best wifi signal and that has no A3 paper support that i could see but thanks for pointing it out tho mate
