Can anyone shed some light? R7870...

Hey all.
TL DR @ Bottom

After having some troubles earlier on in the year I never did manage to purchase the 7950 I was seeking - other things cropped up.

I've now been looking at the graphics card market again the last week or two and have finally settled on getting a 7870 - almost to the exact card actually but I just need some help on shedding some light on this particular card.

It's the MSI 'Dual fan' 7870 [manf code: R7870-2GD5T/OC] - Every where I can find it, it seems to be eye-brow-raisingly cheap, I'm wondering if there is a particular reason for this?

Is it such a low-end 7870 that it's barely even considered a 7870? Even though I know that's a pathetic suggestion but I am truly baffled.

Or could the price just reflect the fact that the other products in that model range from MSI are much more well equipped (for oc-ing basically).

The only other thing I can think of, is this MSI's "polished" reference 7870? o.O

But yeah, can anyone shed any light on this model? Because I'm ready to hit the buy button, but I'm just a teeeny weeeny bit hesitant.

Thanks.

TL|DR -> Anyone know anything about this MSI 7870, R7870-2GD5T/OC - and why it's respectively cheaper than any other card (for now anyway) - I can't even find reviews.

How much is it?

Mid £170's - £180. Around £180-185 delivered

It's not like it's even on offer... The next nearest none reference 7870 that I can find inc vat is about £189 I think.

Sounds silly but I've literately got a set amount of spare money to spend, it's not like I can afford to save up any extra.

It's because MSI's awesome, and they treat their customers to incredibly low prices :D
This is just £20 more than my 7850 - what a deal!
Snap this up before it goes, dude.

One of my buddies paid that much for his 7850 a while ago. That is an awesome price :)

Blimey, looks like it's a pretty good deal - I went ahead and ordered one last night.

Even though the 8k series is supposedly inbound dec-jan, I don't really think I'm regretting my purchase tbh.

Look at this necro:

Been looking at a decent sub 200 USD card for a friend, this one is absolutely mindblowing as far as the price, just under 160 US when bought with a kit of 1866 Corsair Vengeance LP.

It is so cheap that it's almost fishy.

Coming this month and next month actually. Still either way great price. But if you waited a tad longer that 7950 may have gotten cheaper!:p
