So my first purchase was an overpriced pre-built rig.
I literally gutted the whole thing and changed just about everything - save the SSD + HDD along with the CPU.
I know I should've done away with pics from the beginning, but for those who are wondering I'll leave the previous specs here.
Asus P8Z77-M
i7-3770K
CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler
2x XFX AMD HD7750 (without the crossfire bridge, yea....)
4x4GB kingston hyperX
650W nondescript (tags removed) PSU
1TB Seagate Barracuda
60GB OCZ Vertex
all inside CM Storm enforcer.
----------------------------------------
Current build and stuff I've already put in:
Corsair Vengeance C70 Black Gunmetal finish
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP7
Intel CPU Core i7 3770K
Asus nVidia GeForce GTX 680 4GB DirectCU II
4x4GB G.Skill Ares F3-2133C11Q-16GAO
Thermaltake TR2 800W
2TB Seagate Barracuda
1TB Seagate Barracuda
60GB OCZ Vertex
----------------------------
I got few things coming soon, either today or tomorrow.
The new items include the aesthetic stuff that will make this rig works
I will get my orange alchemy cables, few cougar 120mm fans - orange of course, bitfenix's orange LED strips, and Thermaltake NiC C5 - but I will change the fans to cougars to match the color scheme.
The overall look will be robot-esque orange/black and I've already got acrylic window on my list, new fully modular PSU (because I had a hunch that the current PSU is starting to act a bit and to make it look good -i'm an aesthetic freak).
I will also do the optical drive mod to make it stealthy and nice looking.
I will OC this as much as I could later on, since a few days ago I've already hit 4.97GHz without trying hard on 1.39V - but I'm sure I could do better
I know, "why do you bother do air cooling if you're OCing?" - that will be the question, right? well, I have to be able to bring this rig into an airplane and fly it back to the States; I also have to bring it to Indonesia where I might be working for a year before I head back to the States.
I'm not going to risk entire water cooling rig to go to Indonesia where I wouldn't know where to acquire the premix liquid.
Hope that's not too long of a story to show why this robot-esque black/orange build happen.
*NOTE:
I will also post pics should I get a chance to get the water cooling, I already know how my loop would look like - should I get one.
I will keep adding pics as the build progress
